Great videos Jason. ?I went through a similar process with my AD751 (same vintage) in 2004 - not to install a Byrd head but to replace the bearings. ?Total PITA. ?I had a good chuckle at your comment ¡°Why did they have to make this thing so complicated?¡±. ? I felt the same way. ?
I was able to get the tables to flip back further by taking off the stop bolts which gave enough clearance to get the bearing blocks for the cutterhead out. ?Photo below. ?I also discovered that the bearings would slip on if heated to 200 degrees first. ?What a pain that you had to send the Byrd head back to fit that drive belt pulley. ?But it looks like you ended up in good shape. ?Thanks for posting. ?Oh, and I like the simplicity of your old style bearing puller.
