Stephen I have a KF from that ¡°era¡± (2003).? I do agree with the point made, if you¡¯re working with sheet goods, and 8¡¯ table could be a source of annoyance (I have a 9¡¯ and am glad to have gone that way).? Wrt power, for whatever reason (truly can¡¯t recall), I went with twin 7.5HP 3ph.? So, my 100AMP sub panel has a 50 amp fuse for the phase converter.? However, I work alone so my worse case scenario is the saw/shaper, dust collector (3 1/2hp Oneida) and some 20 amp activity (lights, radio, etc).? Never a problem.? I wouldn¡¯t expect the same outcome if the planer or drum sander were going at the same time.? So if the slider length isn¡¯t an issue for you, I can vouch for a great machine. I've found a locally available used KF700, year 2000. I would call it's condition "fair" - it's been sitting for 2 years unused, and is on it's 3rd owner. Covered in dust inside and out. It would be a step up to a format slider from my 1990's era Rojek KPF300, with its solid guide rail and small cast iron outrigger table and simple shaper. |
