Eruv Status - Friday October 27, 2017 Erev Shabbos Parshas Lech Lecha
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýPlease note the time I received this message about the Eruv-7:06pm Shabbos was at 5:41pm. I went to shul and asked around and no one got the eruv notice before Shabbos. Don't know what happened but just wanted to let you know. Ben Lang From: MN mordynash@... [fairlawneruv] Sent: ?10/?27/?2017 7:06 PM To: fairlawneruv@... Subject: [fairlawneruv] Eruv Status - Friday October 27, 2017 Erev Shabbos Parshas Lech Lecha The eruv has been checked and will B"H be operational in its entirety for this Shabbos Candlelighting is at 5:41pm. Have a Good Shabbos. All the Best, Marc Nash |
I sent out the message at 4:16pm eruv shabbos. That was due to repairs being done on the eruv. Why you received the email after shabbos started is beyond me. Please see the attached screenshot as to when it was sent out On Oct 28, 2017 8:48 PM, "Benjamin Lang BMMNPL@... [fairlawneruv]" <fairlawneruv@...> wrote:

It seems to me that the responsibility to check if the eruv is operational falls on the individual baal/baalat habais. ?There is an eruv hotline which can be checked before Shabbat. ?If you are unaware whether the eruv is up , ot is your own responsibility. It clearly looks like it was something quirky with YahooGroups rather than anything Marc was responsible for. ? He of course could not send out a message until the repairs that were underway were completed successfully. ? Nathan Bednarsh

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýWhile the email below is accurate, the Eruv hotline is frequently not updated. It becomes very difficult for the Baal Habait to take charge when the community Eruv phone number is simply not addressed on a weekly and timely basis. ?This week the message was current. ?Many times even late in the day, the message is simply not updated and cannot be relied upon. ? The eruv number issue has been addressed and is being updated weekly to reflect the status of the eruv. The number is updated right after the email is sent out. On Oct 29, 2017 12:53 PM, "Brenda Wiener savtawiener@... [fairlawneruv]" <fairlawneruv@...> wrote:
