428CJ H-Pipe

Hello,
Does anyone know of a larger than stock diameter H-Pipe for the 428 CJ that is
offered for our cars? ?If yes, where?

Merry Christmas and thanks for any help you can offer.

The usual RELIABLE sources were not offering one as of 2 years ago.? I did trip across a shop out east who's owner had a 428 Cyclone Spoiler II that made me one 5ish years ago.? ?Almost fit, needed massaged / wrestled with.? ?
My issues with his company were they didn't remember the tailpipes for staggered rear shock card are different than standard and they charged me for some hardware I never received and never got the credit they offered.
Not sure if the H pipe would be proper length for stock intermediate pipes but your query suggests those will be done custom / locally.
Requires dognuts from brand X car.? ?

The rest of the exhaust will be hand built by me, so the rest isn't a concern. ?But if
I don't have to make my own H-Pipe ?it will save me weeks of work I believe.?

I don't know IF Pypes offers a kit with a larger diameter H pipe for our cars.

That said, how much difference is there in the Mustang/Cougar H pipe (and IF larger is available for them) or even something for Full Size Fords (including the 428 PI cars and/or with Towing Package) with a high performance FE. IF larger is available for any of these and different enough you could weigh the cost of having a reputable local exhaust shop rebend and/or modify as needed OR/VS custom make one to fit our cars.

Does anyone know IF the T-Bolts or 427 '66/67 Fairlanes had larger H pipes than the 428CJ cars? IF so, this H pipe MIGHT be easier to retrofit into our cars.

IF you haven't already done so, you could contact Precision Exhaust to see IF they could/are able to and would make a larger H pipe for our cars. That is IF they don't already have something.

Summit, Jegs and some others have "Universal H-Pipe" kits, IIRC they come in some different sizes. It's just the H section you assemble and then you would need to fab/weld on the elbows and flanges as needed to mate up to the manifolds/headers as the case may be.

IF you are in need of Brake, Fuel and IF auto Trany lines I suggest Classic Tubes for Pre Bent lines. They do regular OEM type steel, stainless and likely nickle. The Pre Bent stainless Brake and Trany lines I got from them for my Torino only needed a slight tweak, otherwise were a drop in fit and finish. I had to do more tweaking to the Inline Tube Brake lines I got for my Fairlane 500. IF I ever need Pre Bent lines again and I had the money at the time I would buy the Classic Tubes lines.
