Friday deadline for new Justices of the Peace; end of Yahoo Groups

开云体育

November 1 is the official deadline (so effectively, Friday October 30) to apply to your town clerk to be a Justice of the Peace if you are unaffiliated, Green, or other minor party and have not been a member of a major party since May 1. After that, the next opportunity will be in 2024. JPs can perform weddings, authenticate ballot petitions, administer oaths and affidavits, etc. In many towns, there are vacancies that go unfilled.

We have Green Justices of the Peace in New Canaan, Redding, Stamford, and Stratford, and I think we have new ones applying in Danbury and Bridgeport. We can always use more. (There is also a real need for JPs who speak other languages to help international couples get married.) Green JPs by town:

Here is the simple form to submit to your town clerk:

Also, please note that Yahoo has announced it is shutting down all Yahoo Groups in December 2020. This group will move to another platform, Groups.io. You can join at?/g/fairfieldcountygreens or watch for an email invitation.

Background on OPTICALENERGY.COM Please send me information on the timing of the next meeting Gerald Falbel 203-357-0626

AS IS SHOWN BELOW, NONE OF THE PROPOSED METHODS FOR REDUCING GLOBAL WARMING HAS RESULTED IN ANY REDUCTION IN THE DISASTROUS 415 PPM. CO2 ATMOSPHERIC POLLUTION.? THE FOLLOWING IS MY NO-TAX PROPOSED SOLUTION TO GLOBAL WARMING.? THIS NEEDS TO BE CIRCULATED NATIONWIDE AND MADE VIRAL.?

?

IN UP TO 2 YEARS THE HORRIBLE COVID-19 PANDEMIC WILL BE GONE.? HOWEVER, A MUCH MORE SERIOUS WORLD DISASTER WILL BE UPON THE ENTIRE WORLD FOR 50 YEARS AND BEYOND UNLESS WE REDUCE GLOBAL WARMING AND CLIMATE CHANGE.? PRESENTED FOLLOWING IS MY SOLUTION TO THIS CLIMATE DISASTER WITH NO INCREASE IN US TAXES OR CHANGES IN WORLD LIFESTYLES.? ANYTHING YOU CAN DUE TO DISTRIBUTE THIS APPROACH TO YOUR COLLEAGUES AND MAKE IT VIRAL WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED BY ME AND THE ENTIRE WORLD!!!?

?

A “FREE LUNCH” SOLUTION TO CLIMATE CHANGE AND A“MAJOR ISSUE” FOR DEMOCRATS IN 2020

GERALD FALBEL? CEO, OPTICAL ENERGY TECHNOLOGIES.? 203-357-0626

This year is the 51th anniversary of the first manned landing on the moon.? It is appropriate to use the moon to provide an affordable solution to Climate Change

Recent weather occurrences such as hurricanes, floods, and firestorms, a major snowfall in Colorado, and the seven hottest world-wide temperatures in history have signaled that the world must do something about Climate Change to prevent major weather and Seal Level Rise Catastrophes in the next 25 years.? Because of Deafening Silence in the Media, nothing significant will be done because of fossil fuel manufacturers' lobbying and the fact that any serious efforts at reducing climate change cost large amounts of money (i.e. taxes) and require the co-operation of developing countries like China and India.? Presented below in my website:

? ? is my proposal for a "free lunch" solution to Climate Change, achievable without any increase in US taxes or changes in lifestyles.

We can use the Saudi Arabian Model, where its citizens and workers are subsidized generously by the profitable energy receipts of the Saudi government.

The US can achieve this model without increasing taxes or increasing the National Debt, by implementing a proposal I have made to US Movers and Shakers and the Media for over 36 years, without receiving any cogent response or rebuttal.

My proposal would build a solar power station? shown in Figure 1 below on the Lunar Equator, in which concentrated solar thermal energy obtained from parabolic concentrators fabricated from lunar materials is converted to electricity by Stirling Cycle generators, invented and developed in the 19th century and operating in current solar systems in California.? This project would beam 21 trillion kilowatt hours/year of totally clean electric energy to the entire earth 24/7 including CHINA AND INDIA anda, using the proven technology of microwave power beaming, which passes through cloud cover.? This energy would represent only 10% of the yearly world fossil energy use in 2020, but would reduce CO2 atmospheric pollution from its current disastrous 400 ppm to a Climate-Sustainable value of 350 ppm. At the current average electricity rate of 12 cents per kilowatt-hour, the US Treasury would receive $2.5 trillion per year forever, which would eliminate budget deficits, while funding an infrastructure program on steroids, and/or retiring the National Debt, which, I submit, even Alt-Right Republicans could support.

This project would be paid for by diverting a portion of the $100 billion/year funds allocated by the Paris Environmental Conference, to this project (recently withdrawn from by President Trump).? This can be combined with a re-directed portion of the allocated funds from the US Defense Procurement Budget to the same companies and workers receiving them now.? Some of these funds are for “make work” weapon systems such as the F-35, Atomic Warhead Upgrading, and National Missile Defense, which are useless in wars against Jihadism.??

All that is required is political courage in Washington.

Gerald Falbel? 472 Westover Road Stamford CT 06902? ? 203-357-0626?

President, OPTICAL ENERGY TECHNOLOGIES INC.?

TABLE I

PROPOSED EARTH BASED MEANS OF REDUCING GLOBAL WARMING

FOSSIL FUELS INSERT 280 x 1012 KILOWATT-HOURS OF GREENHOUSE GAS ENERGY INTO THE EARTH ATMOSPHERE PER YEAR.? THIS HAS RAISED THE CO2 ATMOSPHERIC POLLUTION TO > 416 ppm, WHICH HAS CAUSED GLOBAL WARMING BY THE “GREENHOUSE” EFFECT. TO REDUCE ATMOSPHERIC CO2 TO A CLIMATE-STABLE LEVEL OF 350ppm THE FOSSIL FUEL POLLUTION MUST BE REDUCED TO <350 ppm. BY A 10% ATMOSPHERIC CO2 ?REDUCTION.

?RENEWABLE ENERGY MEANS FOR ATMOSPHERIC CO2? REDUCTION

  • GEO THERMAL (VOLCANIC THERMAL ENERGY):? At other places than Yellowstone Park and Iceland, this would require drilling five miles into the earth

  • “PV SOLAR PANELS”? :? Average weekly solar insolation in hours over the US is less than 4 hours/sunny day, requiring fossil fueled plants to remain on standby, operating inefficiently.? Data from 2016 is 2.60 x 1010 kwatt-hours/year for the entire world.? This amounts to only 2.60 x 1011/280 x 1012 = 0.93%

  • WIND TURBINES:? 2018 wind turbine energy generation was 600 x 106 kilowatts. Assuming acceptable winds 80%/24 hours, yearly wind turbine output should be: ? ? ? ? 600 x 106 x0.8x8700 hours/year = 4.2 x 1012/280x1012 =? 1.5%.? As ?can be seen in the fight over Cape Cod windmills by very liberal politicians, there is a large NIMBY factor on these machines, combined with the fact that the wind is not continuous enough over 24/7 in most regions.

  • NUCLEAR POWER STATIONS: Presently generating 20% of electricity in the US, not including energy used by vehicles.? Future nuclear power is in major jeopardy based upon the Fukushima disaster

  • CAP AND TRADE SYSTEMS:? These tax processes, only reduce the fossil fuel emissions by a factor less than 30%, which will be rapidly used up by emissions of India and China?

  • HYDROGEN FUSION:? This process has been scientifically investigated for over 50 years, and a “scientific breakthrough” where more energy is generated by the fusion process than is put in to produce fusion is always “five years away”.? It is not clear whether this process will ever become economically feasible.

  • BIOFUELS:? .? This is not a solution, since the land used to grow corn for ethanol eliminates cultivation for food and/or as in Brazil, it cuts down rain-forests thus removing CO22? absorbing vegetation.? Also, it requires fossil fuel energy to convert vegetation to fuel.

  • SUMMARY:? None of the above proposed means come close to achieving the required 10% atmospheric CO2 reduction.

FIGURE 1 SOLAR CONCENTRATOR ON THE LUNAR EQUATOR

I WILL BE PLEASED TO MAKE PRESENTATIONS OF THIS PROPOSAL IN CONNECTICUT AND NEW YORK AT YOUR CONVENIENCE.

Hello David,

FIRST: thanks so much for the extraordinary?response to our request to contact GAE Committee chairs?asking them to raise a Ranked Choice Voting study bill. We?heard from more than one legislator that the importance of RCV to citizens of Connecticut is definitely on their radar. We'll be following up with you soon on next steps.?

We want to let you know about a forum next week hosted by the League of Women Voters of?Greenwich to present and discuss the findings of the Commission on the Practice of Democratic Citizenship of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. The virtual event, free and open to the public, is Wednesday, January 13 from 5:30pm to 6:45pm. .

You may recall our announcement last spring that the report from the Commission, Our Common Purpose: Reinventing American Democracy for the 21st Century, recommended Ranked Choice Voting as a way to achieve a more representative democracy.

The speakers are Stephen?Heintz, CEO and Chairman of the Rockefeller Brothers Fund and Co-Chair of the Commission, and Dr. Norman Ornstein, Resident Scholar of the American Enterprise Institute.?There will be a discussion following the presentation of the Commission's report.?

It will be a good opportunity to ask questions and raise awareness about why RCV is a must-have election reform! .

ALERT!

FREE THE INNOCENT GOATS!

JOIN THE MOTHERS MILK PROJECT FOR A VIGIL AND PRESS CONFERENCE!

WHAT: This unprecedented event marks the one-year anniversary of the illegal seizure of antinuclear activist Nancy Burton’s herd of beautiful, healthy and much-loved goats – participants in the Mothers Milk Project () - ?by the State of Connecticut on bogus, illegal and false pretenses. Nancy is pursuing legal actions in court to free the goats! She and her goats need your support!
WHY: The goats are illegally confined in overcrowded and deplorable conditions; at least two of Nancy’s most-prized goats have died in state custody. They were healthy and happy when they were stolen by the State of Connecticut. This event will honor them and all their family members and press the State of Connecticut to release them all immediately to the qualified goat sanctuaries which Nancy selected more than one year ago to care for them for the duration of their natural lives. The alternative? Continuing cruelty and slaughter at the hands of the State of Connecticut.

WHEN: Thursday March 10, 2022 at 12 Noon

Where: Entrance to Connecticut Department of Agriculture Large Animal Facility located on the “campus” of York Correctional Institution, 201 West Main Street, Niantic (East Lyme), Connecticut 06357
If we are asked to leave, the event will take place at the Liberty Green (intersection of Main Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, Niantic) overlooking Niantic Bay with a view toward Millstone Nuclear Power Station

Who: Nancy Burton, a former reporter for The Associated Press, practiced public-interest law for 20 years before being disbarred for her courageous judicial and governmental whistleblowing. Nevertheless, she was the Green Party’s candidate for CT attorney general in 2006. Among her many historic successes, she represented heroic environmental organizations in a successful lawsuit which resulted in a 10-day judicial shutdown of Millstone Unit 2 to spare indigenous fish larvae otherwise doomed to extinction by the nuclear plant’s water intake structures; she won a reversal of a corrupt condemnation order by the State of Connecticut; her successful appeal to the Connecticut Supreme Court led to the same-day order of release from prison of an innocent Black teenager, a victim of brutal racism practiced in Danbury, Connecticut. And so much more!
