Strategies for Countering Authoritarianism, FabRiders' Facilitating Collective Power Lab, Online, March

Thought I would share this here as this list was formed to speak to an emerging crisis and many of our communities are facing even more crisis on a number of fronts. ?Please feel free to share this with your networks or anyone else who might benefit from participating. Across the world, authoritarianism is on the rise—eroding democratic spaces, silencing dissent, and undermining collective action. Now, more than ever, we must build strong, participatory movements that can resist repression and create just alternatives. The Facilitating Collective Power Lab is a hands-on training designed to equip facilitators, organisers and activists with the skills to cultivate inclusive, participatory spaces where people can strategise, collaborate, and take action together. Hosted by FabRiders, this course will help you: ? Develop facilitation techniques to copower with groups to work collectively ? Strengthen networks of resistance and solidarity ? Build spaces where all voices can be heard—and resist repression We are offering this Lab twice to accommodate a diversity of time zones March 12th & 13th - 4 pm to 7 pm UTC () March 19th & 20th - 10 am to 1 pm UTC () Register now as we have limited space at: Scholarships are available for anyone facing hardship due to the US Foreign Aid Freeze and Stop Work Order or if the registration fee poses a barrier to participation.? Dirk Slater All Messages By This Member #1818 开云体育 Hello Facilitation Community, Last week, we ran the first cohort of ‘Strategies to Counter Authoritarianism’ as part of The Facilitating Collective Power. It was invaluable to spend time with other experienced facilitators analysing how authoritarians use different power domains to assert control and then determine strategies that will enable the social change efforts we support to counter and build their power. We also focused on identifying, supporting, and practising a form of anti-authoritarian leadership known as ‘Facilitative Leadership’ and then examined our facilitation practices to ensure we always ‘walk the walk’.?
