This is terrific, Amanda. Your resource has solved a problem I had in an upcoming institute that we’ve taken online.

Re: Number of cohosts in Zoom
开云体育My pleasure, Peggy. Of course! The challenge is usually moving quickly enough to make everyone a co-host, and the changes that come with being a co-host, for example, co-hosts can’t raise their hands. They can however do lots of other things that can be disruptive. :-) So you have to let people know what’s happening right up front ?- ask them not to have fun (just kidding - that would be an open invitation! :-) and click all the new shiny toys they see :-) and give them an alternative to raising their “blue” hand if hand-raising is needed. Hugs, Amy ?

Re: Number of cohosts in Zoom
开云体育Thanks for that reassurance Amy. I was in an OS run by the Art of Hosting network in March shortly after shelter in place began around the globe. The group was at the 100 person limit and they ran into a problem making everyone a cohost. So I was spooked by that.Peggy

Re: Number of cohosts in Zoom
开云体育I have been hosting Open Space in Zoom for years, and have never experienced a limit on the number of co-hosts. As recently as last Tuesday, I tech-hosted OS for 75 people on Zoom without a glitch.

Number of cohosts in Zoom
开云体育Hi all,Another aspect of preparing for the online OpenSpace is figuring out which hack to use so that people can move between breakout groups. The route we are looking at is making everyone cohosts. I had read on this list that there was a limit to the number of cohosts at 50 75. I was looking at Zoom support and saw a statement that there is no limit: The host must?. There is no limitation on the number of co-hosts you can have in a meeting or webinar. Do you think they removed the limitation with the latest update? Does anyone know? Crowdsourcing Amazing Templates for Online Facilitation
Hi All, To stay relevant as many events move online, there is an urgent need for facilitators like us to rapidly learn from each other. Please use to share the link to document templates you use for online facilitation. The goal is to build a library of templates that any facilitator can copy, remix, and reuse in their own work. Re: WordCloud or other check-in/check-out ideas
开云体育I hope to hear other responses and ideas from this group – I’ve learned so much from these discussions. We just ended a two hour virtual session the other week in a similar way – we had three evaluative questions on mentimeter.com (menti.com), and one resulted in a word cloud. It worked really great, and you may be able to use the free version – I *think* you can have an unlimited audience. We have an annual subscription so we can keep the same code over multiple questions. It’s been a great tool for us. ?

I’m running an online Open Space using Zoom in a couple weeks and would love to create a WordCloud as a check-in and/or check-out with the group. We’ll have a Google Doc for session notes. Google Docs has an add-on that generates a WordCloud but it only shows on my screen. ? Does anyone know of a way, with a group of 50-100, that we can create a WordCloud in real time from people’s responses to a check-in question? ? Or, alternatively, any suggestions for a simple check-in or check-out beyond entering a few words in the chat? ? Thanks, Peggy ? P.S. The invitation is here:?. The gathering is for journalism students and educators around the question: In?the midst of upheaval, what’s possible to prepare the next generation of journalists? ? ? ? ________________________________ Peggy Holman ? |

Re: WordCloud or other check-in/check-out ideas
开云体育Hi Peggy!I really like Sli.do <>?for WordClouds, and many people have recommended Mentimeter <>?as well. Besides writing in Zoom Chat (when using Zoom), I’ve supported written Check In/Outs in Google docs; as one-word or one-phrase spoken in an order (which can be posted in the chat to make it easy to follow). It’s surprising how quickly even a large-ish group can check in or out if the sharing is kept to a word or a phrase - you can do the same thing with a sound or movement that expresses what you want to share. You could also write (or draw) something on a piece of paper and hold it up in your video window, either everyone all at once, or in an order. Love to you and all, Amy ?
