Pending move
Right now groups.io still appears to be the best option. They at least appear to be a professional org, are scaling up for the transition, didn¡¯t try to push malware/scare ads to me, and of course are not the FB that a few of you fear.
Alas, in less than 2 hours they¡¯re going to double their price for the transfer, and id be skeptical that they¡¯d go down. I can initiate the move with at least some positive commitment from members. I¡¯m sure things will be different, but that¡¯s life. |

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI am all in favor of moving to . As I mentioned previously I moved a Yahoo Group I am the owner of to their platform earlier this year and have been very pleased with their service. IMO it is better than the Yahoo platform.?One important thing to note you have to be the owner (or have owner permissions) of the Yahoo group in order to initiate the transfer. If cost is any concern I would be willing to kick in $5-10 for the first year to get the transfer made. I suspect after that we would be able to convert back to the free plan. once more: thanks for all of the suggestions, as of this morning I pushed the button on moving to groups.io on a 1-year membership. I hope it works well. So far the group has been approved, and the initial account setup started. I'm waiting for action from them before the next step - i can imagine they're kind of swamped at the moment. But I do know of a few other groups I'm also a member of have already moved. They got in quicker i guess. (may have been smaller too.) I also have an "official" request pending with Yahoo for a full dump of our data. Along with countless others. Once I have that archive, i'll find a way to make it available as well. Once the dust has settled, I'll pass the hat, and we'll go from there. Stay tuned. |
per other questions I can see: - i have no idea whether any publicly-available tools can download all of the archives, nor what effect doing so will have. - once groups.io has completed the migration, it will send every active member an email announcing this fact. (I think I can turn that off, but I see no reason to at this time.) |
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI have been wondering about the lack of interest or members and the many files that I could use. ? Will pitch in as well. ? Chandler, White EVC ? Sent from for Windows 10 ? |

We¡¯ve sold but I will always be interested in Eurovan. It was an important part of our life. I learned a lot, maybe I can help someone. Count me in $$.
I put in a lot of helpful photos, I have no other copies. Hopefully they are still ¡°alive¡±. You will pls left the whole membership know when time to contribute. |
okay, go ahead has been given. I'm not going to pay extra to expedite (US$200!) but we're in the queue. Transfer Status Your group is awaiting export from Yahoo. [Step 1 of 4] Yahoo Group Email Address ev_update@... Groups.io Group [email protected]Again - they're going to send out an email to active members when things have completed, and you'll probably be prompted to create an account at that time. If I can get the evupdate name freed up, perhaps we can establish that as an alias. but i actually like using "eurovan" in the title. Assuming VW doesn't get feisty about it, it eliminates the confusion over EV meaning "Electric Vehicle" that has occurred over the years. |
