Nokian Entyre 2.0 Availability

Richard Hom

Had an interesting experience looking for these tires in size 225/60 with a load rating of 102.? Nokian lists them on their website and listed several dealers in my local area (Sacramento, CA).? Called all of them and none could recall selling any Nokian tires in the past year or so.? Moreover, all said that they could not get this model from Nokian and a couple speculated that this tire model was discontinued.? Nokian itself indicates that the Entyre 2.0 is still available.

Well, if anyone is interested in a set of these tires in the above size, they are in stock at Walmart.com and I bought and picked up a set of four from my local Walmart this past week.? Also, they are currently on sale for $60/tire.??

YMMV

Rick, that is a great price on these tires. They appear to be out of production now and out of stock at Walmart.com. I just bought them for?$112 a short time ago at?that?same store - my least favorite place to shop,?and would have liked to have price?matched them. If others want them, see if any other local tire stores can get them for you.

One related question. I purchased a set of the 5 spoke 16" EV wheels I bought with some snow tires recently which are 16X7. I found that they were difficult to clean up and not in as good of condition as I had hoped, so I bought some stock wheels from a ~2002 EVC in like new condition... and had the new Nokian 225-60-16 put on them... only to discover later that they are 16X6 and the tires don't fit the wheels as good as I had?hoped. I wish the installer would have pointed this out. The tire "bows out" a tad from the wheel. I must be OCD because this really bothers me and makes me wonder if the tires will be more apt to underperform in turns. Can anyone comment on this?

Rick: I've been running Nokian WR-C which I think are a slightly more aggressive all weather tire compared to the Entyres, and have been quite happy with them. ?I wonder if they are still available in 225/60-16 ?

Joe: what pressure are you running them at? ?I, too, have a 2000 EVC which came stock with 15" wheels but was upgraded to the 16" wheels, and I'm never quite sure what pressure is best. ? I tend to do about 48 psi all around which seems a decent compromise of stiffness vs. ride. ??

Sorry to have been away from my PC for a few days.??

Joe,
Thanks for the feedback.? I must have gotten a clearance price deal from Walmart.com.? Checked with Nokian and they still maintain that the Entyre 2.0 is "available."? Maybe production runs were affected by Covid?

Michael,
If it helps, I've been running the Entyre 2.0's at 46 psi.? Seems to give a good ride with the EVC loaded with our gear but with the water reservoir empty.? The stated max is 51 psi for these tires.

Best Wishes to all,

Rick

Just returned from a road trip, and with my fully loaded EVC, 46 psi all around in the 16" wheels with Nokia WR-C 225/60-16, it felt a bit squishy. I'll probably go a bit higher on the next trip.

Question for all: do the 2001 and later Eurovan Campers with 16" wheels specify different front/rear pressures?

Michael isn't the WRC3 more like a snow tire? Would that be a cause for the soft ride?

Mine has a sticker on the door jam.? All of my Vw / Audis have the sticker.? It calls out pressure for front and back, for different number of passengers.? ?I would imagine that this is for stock size tires that they list on there also.

The Winnebago sticker on my 2002 full camper specifies 49 psi for both front and rear tires (225/60-16 102H).

I have a 2003 EV Weekender Pop-top with a typically heavy load- tools (75#), ?rack, 65 L Dometic chest Refrige 2 adults, beach paraphernalia, travel luggage, etc. I use Nokian Entyre 2.0 235/60/16 104 HT¡¯s all wheels with 44# on all wheels and find that perfect. I grant it¡¯s not a ¡°camper¡± version. ?I switched to 235¡¯s some time ago due to lack of availability of high load tires. Some would have to chime in on the fit for a Camper version. They are tight on mine but with no modification they have never hit fenders etc. ?They have treated me well and are great in heavy rain, and general driving, and get good milage on the tires. ?Cannot say about snow as I left Pa years ago and avoid it on trips normally. YMMV.

My 2002 EVC has a Winnebago sticker on the inside of the upper mirrored cabinet that lists Frt/Rear tire pressures as 49 psi/49 psi.? Same is repeated in the Winnebago manual specifications, with the details that the recommended tire size is 225/60 with a load rating of 102 on 16"x7" rims.? The issue for me is that the Nokian Entyre 2.0 in this size lists a cold tire pressure of 51 psi.? So I have been running them at 46 psi as a compromise.?
