New (or slightly used) Westfalias

Jayne Cassedy

Is it possible to get a new Eurovan MV weekender in California? The
rest of the US? Other countries? The local dealer said none are coming
"until further notice."
Thanks!

We have had a 2000 EV MV Weekender on order since 9/99. I was told in
Jan 2000 that Westphalia would not start building our vehicle until
sometime in March 2000. I am calling the dealer this week for an
update. Overall, we have been waiting since 4/99 as they shipped a 1999
without the pop top in 9/99 and I refused acceptance. The 2000 order
was placed then. VW of America has been completely worthless in
expediting this order. Maybe if you are less picky on a color than I
was you may have better luck. I didn't want white, which may have been
the kiss of death!

Good luck...

Hi Bill. We've had much the same experience as you. We placed our order in
5/99, and were first told to wait until July or Aug. The months started
creeping backward, and finally they gave us the "no Weekender in the US until
further notice" message. We actually wanted a WHITE one. I'll keep your
address, and I'll keep plugging away. Let's share news. We live in San
Diego, California. I'm almost ready to travel anywhere to collect a
Westfalia. This is so frustrating!!!
Thanks for your input!
