front door pull handle cover removal 02mv

Spencer Allen All Messages By This Member #164381 Can someone tell me how to remove the front door pull handle cover? Mine is grimy and need painting. A video shows one being pulled and sliding off the mounted handle but mine must be fused on after 22 years. I'm hesitant to use a screwdriver or blade of some sort thinking it will ruin the cover. All of mine are in various states of decay but I'm either searching for the wrong term or looking in the wrong places as I can't seem to find any.? I need drivers/passenger and sliding door gaskets. Duane All Messages By This Member #164385 If you mean the one between the handle and the door, the VW part numbers for the 'packing' are 701837209 for the left and 701837210 for the right.? Can't remember where I found them, but they were $18 each instead of the $37 list price.? I got extras for that price.? Menko J All Messages By This Member #164448 Thanks all!? I got some from ebay someplace in between those two prices.? It fit ok but I'm going to try to adjust this weekend.? The hardest part was pulling the pin from the handle lever to get the new rubber gasket in place, and then doing the angle-tilt dance to actually put the handle back in.? I made the mistake of not paying attention to the angle when I removed it, but youtube had the answer ;)? () Appreciate all the help!? next up is trying to deal with the black vinyl on the B and C pillars that is peeling and cracking.? I bought a kit a year ago with precut pieces, but have been intimidated by the removal and trying to tuck the ends in without removing the windows.
