The wheels should be designed to carry the maximum weight of the fully loaded
vehicle whether it be an EV or an EVC. And, if I am not mistaken, the fully
loaded weight for each vehicle is the same...the EVC simply carries that
weight most often. Thus, I would be comfortable using any EV wheels on the
EVC.

Tad, the EV wheels will fit the EVC, however, I have not found anyone
at VW who will assure me that they have a load rating that will support
the extra weight of the EVC.

Tire Rack does not have any aftermarket wheels for
the EVC although they have several for the EV. The only wheels I have
found that state that they were designed to support the EVC are the
Projektzwo Wheels
, they are
relatively expensive - about $2K for the set.

Let me know if you find other wheel choices for the EVC, for the time
being I have learned to live with the wheel covers.

By the way, I have found one another difference
between EV and EVC at the VW web site.
EVC do not have alloy wheels but steel wheels. Can I
use the optional Rondo alloy wheels
for the EVC?

Thanks,
Tad

Larry, Bob,
Thank you for the comments about the alloy wheels. I agree with Bob. I
think
alloy is much stronger than steel, though the design of Rondo looks
like more
frail to me.
Why does VW put the steel wheels to the EVC? There might be some good
reasons.

Thanks,

Here is the info on our '99 Rialta (a big EVC :-)). I don't know if these are
the same steel wheels used on the regular EV and EVC.

Steel wheels with the following stamped on them:
6Jx15H2 DIN
DOT D15x6
VW 7D0 601 027

The GAWR front is 3527 lbs, rear is 3968 lbs. GVWR is 7275 lbs.

HTH,

Ken

Yes indeed.... those are exactly the same wheels used on the EVC. Guess
they just have to carry a little extra weight on the Rialta. ;-)

What kind and size tires did you get with your Rialta?
