EV piston problems

Many of us have had or have the loose piston slap problem. This appears
to have been a problem on early (at least for the US) 5 cylinders. Is
anyone aware if this problem was fixed when they went to the higher
compression 5 cylinders intro'ed in 95? The reason I ask is because I
am looking at a 96 Rialta with the high compression 5 cylinder.
Actually I am not even positive it is high compression, I have not yet
looked under the hood!

Look for the engine code; AAF = 8.5 CR, ACU = 10.0 CR

You'll find the sticker in the paperwork or on the driverside kickpanel
about level with the dash. You'll have to get on your back to see this
one. Its on a white piece of paper about 3" x 4".
