Drove to Santa Fe from Ohio. Day before reaching SF, we drove through major storm.? Next day engine missing and the the CEL came on. Code said "cylinder 5 misfire" Next morning, no CEL on but still felt occasional misfire. Called Santa Fe VW dealer..."We can't work on Eurovans".? CEL came on again and now code said? 5 and 6 cylinder misfiring.
?Called my service manager (40 years and many VW's with me) at MAG VW back in Columbus and begged for help. He called me back after contacting the Santa Fe dealer and two VW dealers in Albuquerque as well as 3 or 4 independent shops the dealers suggested.
? Only one, Konstruct Performance in Santa Fe, said they even worked on Eurovans. They agreed to see me the next day and repair if they could.
?Next day,they looked at it, diagnosed a likely bad ignition coil pack. Ordered parts that would arrive in2 days.
?Two days later, they replaced the ignition coil pack, wires and plugs.? And showed me the cracked coil pack that was the problem(as they and my manager in Columbus had suspected}
? Great to deal with brother shop owners Adrian and Diago.? Very reasonable cost right on estimate.
