Does anyone know how to stop the new eGroup from sending us TWO of every
ev_update message?
Am I the only one who is getting a duplicate of each message?

You must be subscribed twice. I am only get one set of messages. Try the
unsubscribe command and wait 2 hours and resubscribe.

I have done that with other lists.

Yep, Reg, I believe you are right. I just thought of that this morning.
I did subscribe directly at the eGroup site. I wasn't sure if we would automatically
be subscribed, as the message said.
