Closese Thing to an EV
Lately I've been debating whether to get rid of my EV CL and buy a new
vehicle. I love the way the EV feels on the road, and I'm just not aware of any other vehicle that would give a similar driving experience. Can anyone suggest to me some vehicle that might be "the next best thing" to an EV? Quality and reliability are important concerns. --------------------------------------------------- Dennis Webb webbd@... I've mentioned a few times in this newsgroup that I really liked the two Villagers we've had in years gone by.

They have a Ford body (built in a new plant in KY, I believe), a Nissan 3.0L V-6 (the same engine with a 24 valve head is used in the Maxima and is highly regarded), and Bosch controls (fuel delivery and ABS). ?Recent models (the Mercury Villager and the Nissan Quest) have a stretched wheelbase compared to the ones I had, and the extra inches were added to the rear passenger area (and not to the small storage space behind the rearmost bench). There are a number of seating/trim level models available, but it's much smaller van than an EV, so maybe size alone will rule it off your shopping list. ?The reason I keep mentioning it is because of its very car-like handling, which is certainly important to an EV owner. ?Other big mini-vans (the Chryslers, the Windstar) just don't handle nearly as well. ?If you want good handling you have to get small. If you want good handling AND lots of room, the EV is really the only choice. Mike '93 EV Cincinnati ---------- From: webbd@... To: ev_update@...
