95 Eurovan furnace

I've not used the furnace for a while in our 95 Eurovan. Set it going today to test and there is a lot more heat coming from the outside vent than the inside blower.?
Has anyone experienced this? I am in the UK and would like the furnace to be working next week when we go away for a few days.
Thanks in advance.

Just a guess, here, but you could have a blockage that's causing the hot air to back up to and out of the exterior vent. This has been known to happen when a small, furry critter builds a nest in the furnace. It's bit of work to get to the furnace but you may want to invest the time to inspect it before you go away or before you pay a lot of?'s to have it diagnosed...

Thanks Mark. I did wonder about this option. I might see if I can have a look. I'm guessing to access the furnace you need to remove a lot of plastic panels.

The flexible duct sometimes comes loose, as well.

Thanks David. I've checked that and it seems fine.
Cheers,

I've removed the furnace and the combustion box is rusty, as is the air intake tube. I can patch with foil tape. The installation manual suggest blowing compressed air through the combustion chamber. Is this worth doing? I would need to work out how to get the combustion chamber out of the cabinet.
Has anyone replaced their furnace with another unit? Expensive I expect. I am in the UK so would probably want to find a replacement here. ?
Any thoughts gratefully received.
