Ignition switches

 

Seems timely subject for me the “how to hot wire the ignition switch”

My question is “does one need to be pressing the key hard while rotating to the start positon”.

Seems mine is getting harder to hot the spot were the starter will engage.

So I’m looking for a replacement switch and will do jump in the mean time as a back up.?

In my experience, what you’re describing is what happens just before the ignition switch fails. Swap it out sooner than later.
