i understand the 97 and newer evc's had two exhaust/intake vents
installed to help with fridge performance. i have read here where a
high altitude kit was offered free of charge to previous owners at one
time who only had the single sytem. who was paying for this kit?
norcold, winnebago, or vw?
Winnebago

My '97EVC came with only a single vent.
I contacted Winnebago and they sent the second one with install instructions.

But I will say this....the 'high altitude kit' will improve fridge operation
but I've found this only at elevations above 9000 ft.

thanks for your quick reply! did you do this years ago or recently? how
did you go about it? i would like to email winnebago but cant find any
decent email addresses to people who can help me. their phone support
has been mediocre at best for me in the past.
Years ago....

I bought my '97EVC new Feb. '98.
I think I contacted Winnebago customer service about year later.
They just took my ship to address and sent it to me.
They would even partially pay for the installation.

If you want to order one I think you can get it from www.lichtsinn.com
<> . Last time I checked, the kit was $650! And
you'll need to install it, or pay someone for about 6 hours work. I don't
think it's worth it. I've been as high as 10,000' (Paradise, at Mt. Rainier
NP) with no problems. If you are having trouble with the fridge, it may be
something else. There is complete Norcold documentation in the files
section for your reading pleasure!

do you by chance have any info/paperwork from when this was done?
also are the fridges in the evcs 3163g or 3163t? i am wondering if
the one vent kits are the g model and the two vent kit the t model?
anyone else willing to check their model number to confirm this?
thanks
