Non-dealer service Encinitas area
gracey22003
Does anyone have a recommendation for a non-dealer shop in the
Encinitas area. My 2003 EV weekender recently went out of warranty (57K mi) and I'm wondering if there are any shops in the area that are just as good as the dealer (hopefully better although so far, so good w/dealer). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Grace |

Hi Neighbor,
I am in Cardiff and I don't have a good referral yet. I have used German Auto on postal way, he did good work but he wasn't inexpensive. Some people have recommended a volkswagon bug place in San Marcos. I have used Harris Radiator on 101 for some AC issues and they were good. I like the shop to get parts for Steve at Europarts and sometimes that is a problem. Thanks Jim,
I'm actually in Cardiff also. I'm going to look up German Auto and see how much for oil change, etc. At least it's a start. Thanks again! is worth, they recommend Oceanside Transmission, should you ever need that type of service. I have not had to use them, or any service since we only have had the van for a few months. So I am also looking for good service. Just curious, if Encinitas VW knows how to work on EVC, why not stick with them? Did you buy the van from them and do they still support Eurovan service? I was going to take my van to them for maintenance. Thanks. Lin 97 evc --- In ev_update@..., "gracey22003" <gracey15@...> wrote:

I have been able to get Joseph (pronounced Yo Chef) at German Auto (in Vista) to use some parts from Steve at Europarts, but he didn't like doing it. Joesph is european trained and very proud of it, but he is not inexpensive. Good luck.
