Console

Has anyone bought a console that fits between the front seats? I think
it would be a nice feature for long trips but I am not sure if the
emergency brake is still accessible.
Thanks
Eckhard

Steve Lashley (Sklashley@...) sells a very nice console unit that mounts
on the floor in front of the shift lever -- it has an original equipment
look and fit. But... it doesn't work with the storage tray that Winnebago
has in the '97 EVC models on the bottom of the dash panel. Contact him for
further information.

I bought a center console at Pep Boys. It has 4 cup holders and a lid
that lifts to allow storage to CD's, ect. I do have to move it out of
the way to swivel the chairs around for camping.

It was about $30 and they sell them for mini-vans, but it fits nicely
between the 2 seats.

For trips, I like to use a California Innovations soft pack cooler (Target).
Because it's soft it molds itself around the hand brake. It has a shoulder
strap folds flat so I can keep it in the van ready to use.

With a camper top I would like a little cooler that's sturdy enough to use as
a step to climb up.

For holding drinks I bought the VW under dash console ($80?). It was easy to
put in on my old 5 speed EV, a little tougher to get in front of the auto on
my current EV but once in place, I didn't need any screws to keep it there.

Eckhard,
I bought a center console at Pep Boys. I had to notch the front left corner of
it to fit (it was an inch or so to long) but it does not interfere with the E
break. It has a small catchall in the very front then 2 cup holders for the
driver and passenger, on top it has a lid with another catch all and 2 drink
holders for the people in the center seat. I removed the hinge on the lid so
the top lifts off 2 reasons for this. #1 you would have to remove the things in
the lid compartment to access the thing in the large center compartment and #2
it rubbed on the passenger arm rest when tilted to open it. I'm using this in a
