What's the average age?

I am 80 and my wife is 81 and still enjoy the fun
associated with the camper and all its attributes. We have owned and enjoyed
several models starting with a 1997 .

Sorry about that 1967 not 1997 ,we presently own a 1999.

If Weekenders count then count us in on the survey. We are both 44 and our
Weekender is VW #6.

I was wondering what the average age of a EVC owner was? I know that they
are very expensive and are a lot of money to tie up in a camper, so I am
thinking that it is a older group who can afford one. So who is the
youngest
and the oldest that we have on this list. I was 38 when my wife and I
bought Rex.

Both 27 when we purchased our 93 EV GL. Turnin 3-0 tommorow and still love
the EV. Hope to have one until I'm 90.

We bought our EVC in 1/98 when I was 35 and my wife was 33. No prior
vans or campers, but multiple prior VWs.

I would guess that my average age is a little over 28,
since I have been 56 for 5 months now.

The 99EVC is my first VW camper, I had a 86 Vanagon
GL, a 68 and 76 Ford Econoline - each with DIY camper
conversions (bed and storage only).

I had a 61 bug (bought used in 63) a 66 bug, a 77
Porsche 924 (which was more of a VW/Audi than a
Porsche) and a 79 Dasher diesel. My wife (average age
27) has a 98 New Beetle.

We bought our 99evc in March of 1999. It's our first venture into the
world of VW campers, and we couldn't be happier. I am 39, my wife is
37 and we have a 2 year old daughter.

I am 57, my wife is 55.
We bought our 99EVC in August. Its due for the first scheduled maintenance.
We have gone on several camping trips, Indian River Inlet in Delaware is our
favorite so far, and have not had any trouble with it.
We think its the best $33k we ever spent.
This is our fourth VW.
I got a look at the salesmans manual when he left his desk. The profile for
a EVC buyer fit us perfectly. I guess he had us pegged as soon as he saw
us.

I'm 49. This is my 9th VW, but first van-97EVC bought in Nov.99
with 3500 miles. I still have 3 other VW's. Anyone interested in buying
a '84 Scirroco with 72K, 5spd? Elden

In 1981, I was a 24 year old mommy when I bought a 5 year
old 1976 Olive Green Westfalia Camper Van. I had a 1 and a
3 year old when I bought it. Shear brilliance. My
children had a rich childhood with hundreds of stories of
not only camping but playing in the car their whole life.

I'm still driving it as my every day car today. We'll have
20 years of our life wrapped up in that car. This is the
first time EVER I'm looking into replacing it. It's still
in PRIMO condition. It HAS been a way of life. Kids are
now 21 and 19 and are shocked that I'd even consider it.

I'm tired of the stick shift and I'd like air conditioning
otherwise I'd die owning that car.

We still have the original tent (never been out of the box)
Baby Hammock for over the front seat (Do the newer ones
come with these?)
Tables
Utilities boxes

Can't decide what to keep when we sell the car.

Well, we're both 55. Bought our '97 EVC new in May 1977 and now have around
32,000 miles on it. Our previous VW camper was a '78, bought new in
November '77. No comparison between the two. ;-)
