The first owner had put a set of reinforced Continentals on our van at 40,000
miles. They lasted until 85,000 miles with considerable vibration and
thumping.
They lasted a long time, but were not M&S rated, though, and were an absolute
nightmare in the one snowstorm we drove them in. We had to buy snow tires
until we could get the Michelins which we absolutely love.
BTW, Anyone need a set of 205/65 QR15 Bridgestone Blizzaks for cheap for a
car other than an EV? They were only used for 3,000 miles and won't fit on
my Passat's 14 inch rims. They meet the load rating for the EV GL, but were a
bit too "bouncy" for my tastes. The van felt as though the shocks were bad.
Problem cured when the reinforced tires went back on in the spring.
