Subject: Center bench

I purchased my 99EVC in June with an agreement from the dealership
that they would sell me a center bench as soon as they could get one in
offer in writing ). Well after many calls to the dealership and plenty of
broken promises I finally got the call that my seat had arrived. The
salesman couldn't tell me how much it would cost and as I live 50 miles from
the dealership I wanted this information before I made the 100 mile round
trip. I was transferred to the parts manager who claimed that the dealer
cost for the center seat was $848.00. Of course I threw a fit since the
price that I was quoted at the time of the sale was $500.00. Does anyone
have any information on what this seat actually cost? I was finally able to
convince this dealership to sell me the seat for the $500.00 that they
originally claimed I would have to pay. I plan to pick it up tomorrow. The
dealership is close to an amusement park that has a Halloween special so I
think I will camp there for one night to take my son to the park. Any
advise on using the camper with the center seat installed? Should I fire up
the refrigerator or will I not be able to access it?
Thanks list people!

Getting to the fridge with the seat in is a pain but possible. You will
have to unlock lock from the bolts and slide it back. It will go far enough
back that the fridge door will clear.

You won't be able to access the fridge with the center seat in place.
However, we find that disconnecting the center seat and rolling it out
of the way is a very quick and easy procedure. If you need the fridge,
use it -- the seat shouldn't be that big a problem.

Wow...maybe inflation is really upon us? Many of the '97 readers got theirs
for $300 or 350. Sure is a nice seat but we've used it three times in three
years. Wow...

I paid approximately $700. US (1000 CDN) for my 1995 center seat. NEVER
used it ! I wonder where the dealers get their pricing from ?

How about it Alex. Is everything going well on your 99? I am hoping that I
will go through a minor abuse phase and then things will just get better. I
will soon reach the 6000 mile point, am I getting close yet?
