Is the engine in the 1997 EVC the same as the 1997 Rialta ?? I need an engine? harness for my EVC and the only one I've found is from a '97 Rialta.? and I was told this wouldn't work. Anyone confirm that?

Anyone know where I can find one?? I've tried all the usual places:? Samba, ebay, Europian and domestic used VW parts.

It should be if it's a 6 cylinder.? All the Eurovan stuff is the same, only the camper parts are different.? The Rialta doesn't have ABS, but I think the wiring may be there.? VW is pretty good about putting labels on things like wiring looms, but the tags may have fallen off by now.

Elden, I have a 97 EVC that I recently pulled the engine and transmission out of and also pulled out the engine and tranny harness. They were running well with no codes on either. I'm putting in a ALH TDI engine and 5 speed transmission in. If you are interested in the harness I'd be happy to sell it to you cheap. What's a fair price for you??

For others interested the engine has 225,000 miles on it but was rebuilt at 208,000 with new timing chain and other pieces ($5000 for the refresher) just before I bought the van, and the tranny is also recently rebuilt also at 208K, but still has a slight shifting issue ('clunck') on occasion going into overdrive but otherwise drives great.? If anyone is interested in parts from them or the whole engine or tranny let me know.
