Moderators?

Are there any moderators on this group?? I know Rick is the owner, but he doesn't seem to have time to take care of the "small stuff" like group settings that could improve things or changing the home page picture.? I get the impression that he moved the group here from YG! and then forgot about it.? I think there are a lot of improvements that could be made to make it more useful, such as allowing members to upload (or delete) files and photos or creating wiki pages.

I don’t know what you’re talking about Duane. I just got back from African elephant safari with eurovan group members and I think the home page pic is perfectly apropos ;-). JK!

given the crickets resonating in this echo chamber I’d wager there’s minimal activity in the moderation dept. But if you’re interested in that role you’ve got my vote.?

Well…since I haven’t sold it yet, it seems to be a white elephant.

456000 miles stops people from considering it. Typical conversation, and lots have enquired, starts with how many miles and then I'll talk to my wife then crickets!

Cheers, jc

I may have figured out why no more files or photos can be uploaded.? When the group was transferred from Yahoo, it had to be a Premium group for a year.? If, after that year, the group was allowed to revert to a free group, then it would be over quota and no further uploads would be allowed until some stuff is removed.? The other option is to upgrade to a Premium group again.

I'd be happy to be a moderator, but since Rick and I don't see eye to eye, I doubt that will ever happen.? I just hope he has someone as a co-owner so the group doesn't completely wither.? I was hoping this would be a good continuation of the YG, but without some oversight it can't be as useful.

If it reverted to a “free” group, that’s news to me. I’ve been paying for the “premium” account for several years now out of my own pocket. Maybe the bill went into spam this year? I’ll have to check.?

And I’m literally a hands-off owner, intentionally and because I have only have so much time and energy.?

After logging in, use the link at the upper right with your name/email on it to select Settings, then Billing.? That should give you a summary of the payments you've made at the bottom.

And I’m literally a hands-off owner, intentionally and because I have only have so much time and energy.?
That's where an 'active' moderator would be very welcome.? They could set up the things you don't have time for to make the group more useful.

So, are there co-owners and/or moderators?? Otherwise the group ends when you do.? Although not planned, it can happen at any time.

Duane,
I have been a member of this group for ... years. Please, let me know how much the yearly membership is and I will send you a check or Venmo you the money. It would be my pleasure to cover the cost for once.

Thank you,
Yanni

I think you meant Rick not Duane—he’s the owner. But regardless, I think many on here would be willing to donate a few pence to help pay for it, I certainly would. Can you Rick, please let us know how much the yearly total is and a Venmo Zelle or PayPal acct we can send $$ to??

And maybe we can vote yay or nay on having active moderator(s), to help smooth out the wrinkles going forward? It’s a labor of love for all of us owning, driving, camping in, upgrading/modifying and maintaining these rigs and the forum and all members are better off the more we can share, post and search for information. ?

I vote yay and personally think Duane—if he’s willing!—has the most EV knowledge and forum experience to navigate this task most successfully.

I'm not sure when the group moved here, but the cost is either $110 or $220 per year, though I think Rick sneaked in at $110.? An even better way to support it is to use the Sponsor This Group button on the home page.? 100% of your amount is credited to the cost of the group, no fees deducted by 开云体育 as there are with Donations.? However, it can only be used to pay the group costs going forward.? You can use a credit card or Paypal.? I know PP charges a fee, but 开云体育 covers it on the credit given since they have access to these 'reserved' funds now.?

Thanks Duane! I just tried it out and can confirm that both methods work, PP and CC. So there’s a lil $$ in the kitty to get things rolling.?
?
PP was a little glitchy for me at first but came through in the end after a few mins…. so give it a lil time before pulling out the CC ;-)

I had no idea that this group was at the “paid” level.

This is the first place I go to search when I have a question about my van - a fantastic resource.

A big thanks to Rick for migrating this group from Yahoo, and keeping it going out of pocket for so long.

I will be using the “Sponsor This Group” to offset this cost - least I can do.

Yes, thank you!? ?I also saw the option for "Using the Sponsorship feature".??

I went to the home page and there's a big green button Sponser This Group

Click to cover a bit of the cost, which is apparently "per user"? ?Easy way that we can all take on a bit of the cost.? ?
No opinion on more moderation, just that file storage is very helpful.?

I just went to the home page for Eurovanupdate and made a sponsor group donation via PayPal.
Very easy to do, let's all do our part to keep this valuable resource up and running!
Thanks to Rick and others who have kept it going.

Regards,
Andrew

I made a donation? as well. Grateful for this group!
