I did not notice any mounts like that, but then again I was not looking for them and it is sitting up high on stands. When I make it back down I will check it out. I am not sure if they will go look for you if you call, but you could try. I know there was no awning or I would have been all excited about that!

I did not notice an awning, but I honestly do not know exactly what I would be looking for mount wise. I hope to head back down there in the next week or weeks (hopefully). There are always more important things to do than hit the junkyard lately it seems.

I mis-characterized the application of the mounts. It would make sense that they would have only been installed with the awning itself. Still, I am hoping to determine if the salvages van in the Pittsburgh area yard had has the mounts (and possibly the awning too). But so far the original poster hasn’t replied again with any information about the name and contact number for the yard. Still hopeful that he will.

Not anywhere near the PA junkyard, but I have a Carefree awning - and the EVC did not come with mounts for it.

They came with the awning, and were installed by the dealer when I bought it. Big pieces of metal that are bolted into the frame at designated spots.) Made me a bit nervous at the time actually.

Bob ... I managed to find the exact over-bed storage locker that you have in your weekender on eBay. Since mine will be coming removed out of a van, as opposed to new, could you offer up any tips or suggestions on the installation process. My van is a 2003 weekender, very similar to yours.

Removal of the fixed, rear upper bed board can be tricky, depending on the year and Winnebago’s choice for installation. You’ll like find four tapping screws that were used to drill down through the board into the metal framing �� they can strip out or break when reversing out, so be cautious when removing.

2. They receive really great reviews regarding quality and customer service.

However, they are a bit expensive. So if I can sell my existing pop-top for a reasonable price, that may convince me to go ahead with the project. That's why I reached out to this group to try and get some idea on market pricing of used pop-tops.

Below is the quote I received. I also received a follow up on the installation quote. If I remove my pop-top at home and then drive up to Wilmington in a "convertible", they will do the install for $650. As for removal of interior components so that the van is in a "cargo state", only need to pull out the bench/bed seat and the upstairs loft bed/platform. They need some room to place two jack stands on the van floor to lower the high top into place...

Thank you for showing interest in our products. Pricing for your Eurovan VW 131 WB van, is as follows:

1). 24" Bubble top w/reverse flange..................................$2875.00 each

1). Basic Van top install: (no inside upholstery finish):��.$975.00

Our basic van top installation is completed in one day (same day drop off same day pick up). Our shop is located in Wilmington, CA (Southern California). We are not a van conversion company, so we don’t do any interior upholstery or electrical finish. We just simply cut out your factory roof, bolt, screw, and seal your new fiberglass high top to your van. Unfortunately we do not install or reinstall any third party products such as roof racks, solar, etc. Only a small fan/vent.

For the basic installation, your van needs to be as empty as possible and in "cargo state" prior to coming in by removing as much as you can behind the driver and passenger seats, including the rear ceiling headliner. Anything on the roof of the van such as roof racks, solar, vents, etc.. should also be removed prior. Installations are by appointment only Monday-Friday (once we receive your deposit).

As of today, earliest appointments for installations are being scheduled for March 2025

Options For Van Top:

The ceiling reinforcement (option #2), will allow you to mount up to 350 lbs of weight on the roof.

For the fan installation (option #5), you would need to provide us with the vent the day of the van top installation. We do not do any of the wiring connections or electrical. We do the fan cut out on the van top, install and seal the vent down.

All of our van tops come in a standard exterior white gel coat finish (the natural finish of fiberglass). It is highly recommended to have the top be painted with automotive paint by a body shop to give it a nice finish as the van. We do not keep any of our products in stock; we manufacture tops as they are ordered. Manufacturing time right now can take up to 1-2 weeks. Prices quoted are valid for 30 days and are subject to 9.5% Los Angeles, California Sales Tax (basic installation labor not taxable).

Please advise us of any rust issues on the roof ahead of time. Rust should be taken care of before the high top is installed. The cab area will remain intact and 6�� from the rain gutters in will be needed to be rust free.

front frame rusted out, body rust too, but engine and automatic trans worked great when parked a few years ago.

has trans dipstick ingot regular trans fluid changes.

Greetings,

I’m reaching out to the general Eurovanupdate group for input on market pricing of the plastic pop-top (Winnebago EVC conversion, not the Weekender).

25 years old, no cracks, Yakima cross bar rails, roof vent fan replacement, roof lift struts and brackets. Canvas tent needs screen repairs.

I’m putting out feelers, in case I decide to sell my top and replace with a Fiberine high top this summer. The Fiberine tops are pretty expensive,

so I'd want to defray some of the cost by selling my used pop-top.

Do you have the contact info for the salavage yard that has the Eurovan Camper �� the one in Pennsylvania (I think it was near Pittsburgh)?

I’ve been looking for the original awning mounts that came on most of the Campers, designed specifically for the Carefree of Colorado awning (NLA). From the one photo that was posted (driver’s side) I’m not able to see if there were any mounts.

To prevent bugs and wasps from entering any of the vents to your internal equipment, remove each vent and place stainless steel window screen across the hole through the body of the van and reapply the vent. No rust, heat-poof, and no more bugs invading your burner/furnace assemblies. Be sure to cover every vent.

I would love to have a rear overhead cabinet like that for our weekender. It would be exactly what we need to tidy things up a bit and give us a place to stuff clothes and things.
