You have to target why you have no power in those cylinders if compression OK!
Fuel or sparks! You have spark, but is the firing order correct?? Mixed spark plug wires, bad distributor cap , bad hall sensor etc...

If the compression test of each cylinder is OK, it would not be a problem with timing belt, and more likely be the incorrect timing order.? Long

Like I said, i tested spark plug, ok. I tested sparkplug wires, ok. I compression tested every cylinder, every cylinder ok. I have not inspected the timing belt. What are the possibilities there.

Does anybody have a 2000 EV owners manual?

 

Mine got water damaged a few years ago, very hard to read some pages. If someone does have one handy, it would be great if you could scan the page(s) that identifies all of the warning indicators on the display panel and post it to the Group Files section.?

Thanks in advance to whoever can do this! (Replacement manuals are like $90 from Bentley or $190 on Amazon - used!)

Very interesting. I am actually trying to buy 5 speed transmission for 87 Vanagon from Germany. But I still have to buy the shift rod and the shift rod. Do you know what engine has the 93 ev 5 speed has? I have this vehicle too. Thanks. --------------------------------------------

The 83?Vanagon with diesel engine in the US came with 5 speeds manual transmission when the Camper version of the same year came with 4 speed manual.?
Long/82 diesel Vanagon (turbocharged later), 93 EV 5 speeds, 95 Rialta, and 97 diesel Transporter

Where are you located?

When were you thinking you would fly out?

I don't see any reason this van shouldn't make the trip. It was a daily driver up until he picked up his Sprinter today. It looks very clean under the hood and I know he took very good care of it. He bought several parts from me. I can go inspect it to make sure it drives well and doesn't have obvious issues.?

Help!! My 1993? EV with 2.5 L Engine has no power on 3 cylinders. If I pull out the spark plugs individually? and test it outside it will spark. So I have ruled out the spark plugs and spark plug wires as the culprit. Anybody has experienced this kind of trouble? Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes those slots are normal, my 2000 EVC also has them, no sealant is missing.
