Re: Advice on 1993 MV

Russell LaForce

I have a 93 MV with a weekender package with 85K miles
and like it very much. Last fall, I talked with a
couple who also has a 93 EV and who has two teenaged
children in wheelchairs. The couple says the van
works fine for them. The van has a lot of headroom
inside with a level floor. It is not garaged and they
bought it new.

One other thing, are you sure the van has 72k miles
not 172K miles?

We are considering purchasing a 1993 MV from a Chevy
dealer. The van
has 72K miles on it and is an automatic
transmission. We would purchase
it to use it for transporting our son in his
wheelchair; we'd add a
lift off the side.

Does anyone have any experience with using it for
this purpose and any
general words of advice about buying this van? We
live near a number of
VW dealers.

Also, any thoughts on whether it is worth it to pay
an extra $700 for a
one year extended warranty. The lemon laws in our
state require that
the dealer already provide a 2,500 mile or 90 day
warranty.

Thanks for any guidance.
