Electric launch for sale
This boat is the prototype I designed and built with the intent of selling a few, however a change in careers (back to school) forces me to sell it. Any reasonable offer will be accepted. See it in the photos section (SLBCO) or on my web site http://www.megsinet.net/~jsschaib/

Steve

Motors & boat plans for boats 22' & unde
Plan to buy/build 18 to 22' fishing/work boat
with cuddy cabin, possible overnighter. Need
info on limitations regarding glass vs. aluminum,
manufactured vs. custom built. Also, power
requirements, i.e., single Ray vs. twin 24V
trolling motors. We've got a lot to learn about
this, so any info/advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Doug

It sounds like a good project.

I bought a 22' sail boat w/trailer, sails, o/b and a lot of other junk at a sherif's auction. It was VERY resonable. I am selling the sails and o/b to help finance my project.

I am converting it into a cuddy cabin, open cockpit, 36 volt launch. I removed most of the cabin. I did leave the v-birth and head. The v-birth sleeps to persons very nicely. I am planning to have a flush deck w/seats on each side to fit the curve of the hull. I will be using a 2.5 hp, 36 volt golf cart motor, w/6 six volt golf cart batteries. The boat weighed in around 1800# when I started. With everything stripped out it now is around 800#. In the end it will probably be close to the 1500#. I am expecting around 5-6 mph and 4-6 hours operating time. I am using a 2:1 reduction on the motor and a 12x10 three blade prop. I also removed the 500# center board and added a keel to the bottom.

I think you could find a similar vessel for $200 to $500 if you keep your eyes open. It would sure be a lot cheaper then having one built. Used golf cart equipment is readily avalible also.

Please keep me posted with your progress. I hope to some day get some pictures ready.

Thank you for the web page link to ELCO web page. Interesting boat styles. I found they have a sales rep in SoCal, and I will contact that person.
Ron

Spot remover for canopies?

We're getting an ElectraCraft boat with full canopy. Expect we will get occasional seagull droppings. What are effective spot remover products?

Canopy Cleaning
Thanks, Bill, for the reply.
I guess we could also try some pre-treating with something like ScotchGuard.
Ron
