Devotional: Victorious Praise
Faith to Faith - Daily Devotional
March 6, 2025
?
When he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers to sing to the Lord and praise Him in their holy [priestly] garments as they went out before the army, saying, Give thanks to the Lord, for His mercy and lovingkindness endure forever!
2 Chronicles 20:21, The Amplified Bible
Praise precedes victory!
You can see a graphic example of that in 2 Chronicles 20. There, the Bible tells us that a?multitude?of forces was marching against Israel. The army of Israel was so outnumbered, they literally didn't know what to do. So they fasted and prayed until they received a word from God. "Be not afraid or dismayed at this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's" (2 Chronicle 20:15,?The Amplified Bible).
Do you know what they did in response to that word? They put together a praise choir! That's right. They appointed singers and praisers and sent them out?in front of the army!?And when that choir began to sing, the Word tells us that "the Lord set ambushments against the men...who had come against Judah, and they were [self-]slaughtered" (verse 22).
When it was all over, not one Israelite had fallen—and not one of their enemies had escaped. What's more, when they came to take the spoil, they found so many cattle, goods, garments and other precious things, it took them three whole days to haul it all home.
Now,?that's?victory! And it all began with praise.
Are you looking for that kind of victory today? Then stand up and shout, "Glory!" After all, you're in the same situation those Israelites were in. You have an army marching against you, but Jesus has already defeated it. He won that battle for you on Resurrection morning.
All that's left for you to do is trust Him and begin to praise. Sound out those praises today. Speak them, sing them, declare them in the face of your enemy. Once he hears them, he'll know he doesn't even stand a chance.

Lent, Day 1: Ash Wednesday:
Preparing Our Hearts for Easter
?by?
Joel 2:12-13
“’Even now,” declares the LORD, “return to Me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.’ Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the LORD your God, for He is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and He relents from sending calamity.'”
Welcome to a daily devotional guide for the Lenten season, taking us on a journey to Easter Sunday. A traditional Lenten devotional series is 40 days, with writings for six days each week. Sundays will be included in the series but set aside as “celebration days” for the posting of scripture verses, hymns, and spiritual songs, thus they will not be numbered. May you be blessed, inspired, and filled with a renewed love and commitment to the Savior during this season.
?
Growing up in a military family that was not particularly religious, we attended church only occasionally at the protestant chapel on the local base wherever my dad was stationed at the time. At school, I was intrigued—and a bit jealous—that a number of my classmates were excused during lunch break to attend church with their parents, returning with smudges of ashes on their foreheads marking the first day of Lent. Years later, after placing my faith in Christ, I came to understand the true significance of Lent—that it isn’t about the ashes, or a rigid ritual to keep, or a requirement for His acceptance and love but, rather, it is a special time set aside, by personal choice, to draw nearer to God.
?
One may choose to fast for a period of time or refrain daily from a particular food or habit. Our scripture verse today says, “Rend your heart,” which means to come to the Lord with “weeping and mourning” over personal sin with a heart of repentance. When we humble ourselves to do this, we are met by a forgiving, gracious, loving, and compassionate God. The subjects of prayer, fasting, and repentance will be touched on more fully in the days ahead.
?
Join me, won’t you, during these 40 Days of Lent, until Resurrection Sunday, as we draw near to the Father and deepen our love for Jesus. May we open our hearts to what God has in store for us during this season of hope, as He prepares our hearts for Easter.
?
Father in Heaven, as we prepare once again to focus on the redemptive message of the Cross, open our hearts to receive all that You desire for us to consider in the coming weeks. Ignite the flame of Your Holy Spirit to give us teachable hearts with a desire for these things: more time spent in Your Word, a spirit of repentance, more effective prayer, and a heart of charity towards others. In Your name we pray, Amen.

Prayer for Shrove Tuesday
Prayer for Shrove Tuesday
God of feasting,
we give you thanks
for the richness of life.
As Jesus turned water
into wine a Cana,
we think of your desire for
all your people to celebrate life.
Bless us as we celebrate the joy
of being your people.
Send your Spirit to dance
And sing with us.
As we enter the Season of Lent,
May it, too, be a celebration of life:
of an inward journey of contemplation
and wondering, of learning and exploring.
And in all of this,
May we grow closer to Jesus,
to one another, and to you.
This we ask in Jesus’ name, Amen

Devotional: Fight with Purpose—Be a Warrior!

Today's Scripture
Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
Romans 8:37
Every person that you meet today is facing a struggle. How they meet that struggle determines the outcome. Wimps run away. Whiners play the blame game. Warriors, though, refuse to point the finger or wait for rescue.
A warrior determines to engage the enemy. He polishes his armor and brandishes his sword. A warrior is not concerned with the number of the enemy. She doesn’t ask, “How many?” She says, “Where are they?” Warriors choose to take a stand. They do not feel their way into being a warrior. They contend with the same fears, doubts and distractions that assail us all, but they make up their minds to draw a line in the sand, to fight for right, to charge into battle.
The Bible teaches that every warrior needs three things:
Every warrior needs to remember the cause for which he fights. Fathers, are you contending for the faith of your children? Ladies, are you combating the tendency to over commit? Keep that worthy cause at the forefront of your mind. Pray without letting up. Take the necessary steps to protect and defend.
Every warrior needs a battle plan. Armies do not stumble over a success. Soldiers do not drift into a victory. Warriors without battle plans are casualties. Fight with focus. Be intentional. Ask for the intelligence of God to be poured out in you as you strategize for success.
Every warrior needs to remember in Whose strength you fight. We do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, powers, rulers of darkness and spiritual hosts of wickedness (Ephesians 6:12). You have an enemy – the devil, the serpent of old. In your own strength, you are no match for him. Alone, you cannot go toe to toe. Jesus has promised to stick close to your side. He will not desert you on the battlefield. He will provide the mighty weapons you need. In His name, you are undefeatable.
Choose to be a warrior! Remember the cause for which you fight. Prayerfully create a battle plan. Be aware that you do not wage war in your own strength. When you do, you will be a warrior that becomes a winner.
Blessing
Heavenly Father, even when I am surrounded on all sides, open my eyes to see that I never battle alone. Give me the courage to fight for the causes close to Your heart. Give me the wisdom to overcome the wiles of the enemy. May Your kingdom be advanced in my life, my family, my community, and the world in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Devotional: God's Life-Changing Word
God’s Life-Changing Word
Deuteronomy 32:46-47 (NASB?) “Take to your heart all the words with which I am warning you today, which you will command your sons to follow carefully, all the words of this Law. For it is not a trivial matter for you; indeed it is your life.”
Remarkable things happened in the books of Moses—Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. By the end of Genesis, Abraham’s descendants have migrated to Egypt. When Exodus opens hundreds of years later, they have been enslaved and will remain so for many generations. Moses comes with a message of deliverance, and the story begins to change direction. The gods they were exposed to in Egypt were made in the image of other created things, and they reflected humanity’s fallen nature. God begins to help His people understand His character and His power and how cooperating with Him will change their lives. These ancient words of Moses are just as transformative for our generation, so I urge you to take God’s Word to heart. Diligently read it, follow it, and teach it to your children. It’s not a trivial matter—it is your life.
THINK ABOUT IT Making the life-commitment to systematically read God’s Word each day will change the course of your life and through your influence, the lives of those around you.
PRAYER Heavenly Father, thank You for the many ways we can access the Bible. Help me to love Your Word more than life, and through it, grant me insight into Your character and how to respond to life’s challenges. May Your Word be more alive in me than ever before. In Jesus' name, amen.

Devotional: Give with a Heart Full of Love!

Matthew 6:21
March 02, 2025
Today's Scripture
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Matthew 6:21
God calls us to first love Him with all our heart, and that is reflected in what we put in the treasury of our heart. There are many things that people tend to lay up in their heart as treasure—money, time, career, family, pleasure—but Jesus cautioned that we should rather lay up treasure in heaven. That means we need to bring all our earthly treasures to God, including our families, and give them to Him to use for His glory.
This is easily seen in our attitude toward giving money. Whenever God sees us put more love into our bank accounts than we do into the King who died for us, He says there’s a problem in the heart. This is why the Bible says, “So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Cor. 9:7 NKJV). If you cut God a million- dollar check with a begrudging attitude, the church board will be thrilled, but God won’t be because your attitude says more to God about the love of your heart than anything else. But if you have just a dollar to give and you’re delighted to give it, God loves it. It’s all about what’s in your heart!
Blessing
Now may the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you and give you His peace. May the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob forgive us of our sin. May He forgive us for our ungodly lifestyle, and may we return to the God of our fathers and worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness. For there is one God and He is Jehovah God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, Creator of heaven and earth, from everlasting to everlasting. We confess Him to be God and no other. In Jesus’ name, we pray and ask it.

Good Afternoon - Feb. 27, 2025
Good afternoon everyone,
Just taking a minute to check-in.. Monday we had the Granddaughter, her husband
and the new baby here, while they waited for their vehicle to be repaired.. again.
When they had the breaks fixed the week before, the mechanic told them they needed
wheel bearings. This time they seen that they need?to have a sensor replaced, so they
will be back again on Monday. They need to have it in tip top shape, so they can go
down to Georgia next month for his Mother's 50th birthday party.. and, it's been great
visiting with them and seeing the girls. Tuesday I did laundry and Wednesday I started
my "spring cleaning". I was going to do another room today but, a friend of my brother's
contacted me last night, and wanted to know if we wanted his photos and etc.. so my
hubby went over to pick the stuff up. It will be a year on March 2nd that he passed.
So, I will probably go through that today and get back to my cleaning tomorrow.
I will be online as I?can.. hope this finds you all doing well, and that you all have a
good?day and rest of the week.?

Devotional: Peace with God - Today with Pastor Allen Jackson
Peace with God
Romans 5:1-2?(NIV?)? Since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God.
To be justified through faith means to be acquitted, to be made righteous, as if you had never sinned. It means you can stand before Almighty God without fear or shame because you have been made clean, worthy, and deserving—not because of anything you have done, but because of what Christ has done for you and your faith in Him. When the enemy says you’re unclean, unworthy, or undeserving, remember what it means to be justified through the blood of Jesus. Remember what it means to have God on your side—forgiving you, pulling you along, and cheering for your progress. As you deepen your relationship with Him, you will find strength for today and gain confidence to face the future.
THINK ABOUT IT This hope, this assurance, is the firm foundation upon which you can stand and the good news you have to share with the world.
PRAYER Heavenly Father, help me identify with Jesus’ sacrifice and what His blood paid for more than I identify with my feelings or circumstances. May I continually apply His cleansing blood to every aspect of my life so I might walk in His victory and be an effective ambassador for Your Kingdom. In Jesus’ name, amen.
