Does anyone know of a non-toxic way to deal with subterranean termites? 5
A friend thought someone in your group might be able to help. Does anyone know of a non-toxic way to deal with subterranean termites? I don't want to hurt them, but we'll lose our home if we don't stop them. We definitely do not want to use poison, for many reasons, but haven't found any alternatives that sound like they work.

Welcome? 6
Hi. Guess I'm not quite alone. May we have a word from the owner? Liz just suggested I start the list - but here it IS! However, it also means that normal and tedious invites are a thing that I cannot do. BillSF9c

Dec 2020 Update
Welcome, new member! Ok guys - you are here, presumabley for 1 of 2 reasons... You thought everyone was headed this way. You dislike google. I do not have the old membership roster. It has been found by Isis, who as a.list-owner many times over, I can say is a dedicated detail oriented person who I'd love to be a co-owner with!!! Why she decided upon google, I cannot know or fathom. As a past gov't ComSec guy and sillycom valley worker I has too much knowledge and self respect to subject my privacy to them more than absolutely needed. They claim the right, and you yield it when you join, to have your everyword combed and filtered and reused. Almost every service now does this. IO is a rare exception. But google is the gargoyle king of this. But understand, the unaware will go where they are called. There will be no permaculture posts if everyone lurks. Yes, there is obvious nuance, but most of this is common sense to me. Some sun, some shade, some water, bury or let die in place everything, and eventually the system becomes self perpetuating and expands. Forests expand. Desserts expand. A gentle tipping does it. A hundred years ago people in the US recognised that the prarie was 6 ft deep in rich soil in many places... whike wurooe fir 400 years had a scant few inches and that was only due to scrupulously burying every sheed if manure and plant matter they could find, having used up their soil with centuries more human occupation. I mean societal presence. 100 years ago the buffalo had ceased to roam. The interstate highway system cut plants and animals off from one another and annihalated a fair percentage of "chickens who crossed the road." And a few people in that quest... so, we need fences, too. So, join the google guys... you'll be getting an Invite. Or this list... but it's a case of use it or lose it. This list will be a forest or a desert. YOU each tip the scales with your every action or inaction. Too bad about the buffalo. A VERY lean meat - might have meant less obesity in america. Me? I'm on a diet. 8 lbs down and 12 to go by Valentines' Day. Speedo weather is coming up! ??? I have bees. Took a VERY simple hive design and improved it. No neighbor has noticed. I have no costly garb. Whacha' doin' this winter? Make a hive maybe? You have to be ready by roughly April Fools' ir tax day. Outlay for lumber 20-40$. Maybe 20 for pherenome, unless you grow lemon grass in lieu. Cymboticum (sp) something. There are 2 lemon grasses and I forget which offhand. Or 100-175$ for a package of bees. Just a thought. What are YOUR thoughts ??? Desert? Or forest? It's YOUR List. I just turned on the lights and did ONE invite because they wrote me and asked.
