EAGLE'S PREY 1824 CAMPAIGN
Running an Eagle's Prey Campaign: one of the true joys of campaign management is watching the players act and plot as their historical counterparts did over a century ago. How quickly the days return and the strategy arises again when seen from the GM's point of view. Besides the fact that these sort of campaigns create dozens of what of engagements, it really is a barrel of fun! Here is a sample first Turn from a campaign that we started and it includes all of the details for each of the players as they would see it with their results. Players would send their more detailed orders per campaign. Turn to the GM and the GM would distill them down into one "processed" Turn. If there any questions on how to start or run a campaign, please do not hesitate to ask. Typically these are run via email, but we have done them in person. Those are rare as it is difficult to get everyone in room. 1824 Eagles Prey Campaign Turn: Native Activity: After a poor hunting season, the local natives are migrating to Utah Territory. EAGLE'S PREY FOCUS: Battle of Santiago Papasquiro 1865
Battle of Presidio Santiago Papasquiaro February 27th, 1865 This action takes place in and around the Imperial controlled Presidio at Santiago Papasquiaro in Durango. Maximillian¡¯s forces have been hard pressed to keep their possessions around the northern parts of the Mexican Empire ever since the French began withdrawing their forces. Imperial Mexico Briefing¡ªThis morning, news has reached you that the Republican forces under General Lopez Y Costilla have been spotted assembling just outside of the town of Santiago in an attempt to take the Presidio. You have been told that reinforcements are coming from Durango and that you must hold at all costs. You do not believe that relief is coming, so you decide to have your carriage prepared in case you have to leave. Republican Briefing¡ªEmperor Maximillian in Mexico City is loosing his grasp on the country. Northern Mexico continues to fold under growing anti-imperial sentiment. The Republican forces must secure the Presidio of Santiago to march on Durango. El Presidente Benito Juarez will arrive by carriage around 4pm and will like to have dinner in the Presidio Officer¡¯s club. You must take the Presidio at all costs, but must not loose the new artillery recently provided by the USA. The period of Maximilian Adventure in Mexico is one of our favorite gaming backgrounds. Combine this with our Campaign system, and you have quite a engrossing gaming environment. We have spent decades researching the period and we managed to compile all of it into our Campaign system and Scenario Generation tools. We have uploaded the scenario and hope this will spark the internal flame of wargaming curiosity! Long Live Benito Juarez or Viva Maximiliano!

Hi! I have Casemate and Cannon, and it mentions a "Fleet Command record sheet", but I can't find it in the book or on any of the io groups that I'm in. Where can I find the record sheet? Or has some new edition of the game done away with it and that's why I can't find it? Thanks!

EAGLES PREY FOCUS: Pancho Villa's Greatest victory!
Pancho Villa's greatest military victory In February 1913, a military coup brought down the legitimate government headed by Francisco I. Madero, who was trying to lead a transition towards modern political forms and mitigate the social abysses that characterized the country. The coup, prepared by the combination of the ambitions of the Diaz politicians and the landowners represented in the Senate, and by the United States ambassador representing their petty private interests and those of the very powerful Standard Oil Company, opened the door to the revolution that would liquidate the institutions and the political class forged during the Presidency of Porfirio Diaz. And if we also call the above ¨C the brief and almost bloodless Maderista rebellion ¨C a revolution, it is because Madero himself called it that, as revolutions were called the changes of government, riots in Mexican 19th century. The rebellion that followed the Barracks revolt began at the same time in many places, ever since Madero's fall became known. It was a collective reaction of dignity that in some way was articulated by the governor of Coahuila, Venustiano Carranza. This reaction took on various expressions, one of which gave rise to the Northern Division in September. The soldiers of that army were enthusiastic volunteers who fought ¨Caccording to their own testimonies¨C for democracy and freedom (and clearly expressed what they understood by the former, whatever they understood by freedom), as well as for justice. , which manifested itself in the first place in the demand for the redistribution of wealth, starting with land ownership. Their leaders had emerged from the ranks of the people and many had been elected by the soldiers themselves. That revolutionary army conquered the state of Chihuahua in December 1913. Immediately, its leader, Francisco Villa, expropriated their properties from the oligarchy, putting them at the service of the revolution. This allowed him to finance a novel social experiment (which included the opening of numerous schools) and to convert the guerrillas who had been placed under his command into a powerful army, at the head of which he advanced south in the spring of 1914. Their objective was the cities of La Laguna, where a powerful contingent of the federal army had become strong. Between March 20 and April 13, Villistas fought tirelessly in a long battle of positions that went down in history as the Battle of Torre¨®n and the Battle of San Pedro de las Colonias, although in reality it was a single battle. weapon action. In those bloody battles, Villistas defeated the best commanders of the federal army on the battlefield and destroyed two powerful divisions totaling more than 22,000 soldiers: the largest concentration of men and firepower made by the old regime to resist the revolution. That was the bloodiest of the battles fought until then, in the entire Revolution, and the most important, in military terms, in the fight against the old regime. The Villistas had more than 2,000 dead and as many wounded. The feds would count more than 12 thousand casualties between dead, wounded and prisoners. It was a real battle of positions waged against a seasoned enemy, led by capable leaders and jealous of his duty, who left numerous lessons that the revolutionaries knew how to take advantage of. A first observation of a military nature shows that Pancho Villa was capable of mobilizing large contingents quickly and stealthily, as he moved his agile guerrilla columns. In the same way, the ability of the generals who commanded the brigades that made up the Division to coordinate their movements and respond adequately to instructions from headquarters was appreciated. That is to say, that these days 100 years ago, the ranchers, muleteers, cowboys and field laborers; bandits and professional agitators; railroad and mine workers; the rural teachers, bookkeepers, the younger brothers of the assassinated president and some other military technician defeated the federal army on the ground, the forms and the circumstances that the professi

Shiloh 1862
Using Eagles Prey: Advance & Retreat, five of us played Shiloh. We were introducing the game to some new players, and let them be the Confederates¡ªlots of troops attacking the Yankees in the camps. For the scenario, the Confederates were required to loot any Union camp (small tents on game table) within 4-inches, if there were no non-routing Union troops within 12-inches. The Confederates involved in looting stayed in the camp but were considered ¡®routing¡¯, and had to rally in order to stop looting and rejoin the battle. The rule tended to slow the Confederate attack. Additionally, the Union troops started the game in camps and could not form or leave camp until they either sighted a Confederate unit, or a messenger told them of the Confederate attack. To model this, a messenger was placed on the table with the Union unit that first sighted the Confederates. The messenger moved at 21-inches per turn back to Pittsburg Landing, and then back to the Union unit being attacked. At this point all of the Union units could leave camp. Another rule tried was allowing a Grand Tactical Movement: Infantry would move 20-inches in Column, 30-inches in March Column; Limbered Artillery would move 18-inches. Grand Tactical Movement was at the end the Rout & Rally Phase, and has to stop before the unit came withing 12-inches of a non-routing enemy. The movement is in addition to Tactical Movement. This allowed forces to engage sooner, speeding up the game. We will probably use this as a ¡®house rule¡¯ for future games. Finally, the timberclads, Lexington and Tyler, were each allowed to fire on any Confederate units they could see as an 8-gun heavy battery. With the terrain, the Confederates would have to get within about 12-inches of the Tennessee River to be in sight of the timberclads. Also, at night, any Confederate unit within 36-inches of Tennessee River would have two 30% chances of losing a CF from bombardment by the timberclads. The game played out with near historical results. The Confederates pushed the Union Army nearly all the way back to Pittsburgh Landing, but as the Union got pushed back, their lines become tighter, and they were able to hold off the last Confederate attacks before night set in. As night approached, Lew Wallace's division arrived, shoring up the Union right. Over night, Buell's Army of the Ohio arrived, giving the Union the forces to push the Confederates back.

Quick question about firing % 7
Hi hope you had a good Christmas and new year. Sorry if this is a stupid question but is the base % to hit per regiment or base? Also with the artillery is that for the whole base or each tube as I think each base represents 4 if I read the rules correctly?

Hi Manny I hope you are well. Sorry another question, in the rules by the 'Visibility and fires' section it says visibility is limited to 18" except for Scouts who can see 24 ", is that just when there is fog and fires? Sorry might have missed the general spotting rules in another section Also quick question about the Eagles Prey Campaign rules, just wondering does the Civil war rules work along side them or are they are a separate set of rules?
