Hi Everyone, I got an email from the mother of a 12 year old boy looking for a Young Eagle flight for him. He has done a discovery flight previously, so would not be his first flight in a GA aircraft. I don't think we have anyone currently qualified to do YE flights, but thought I'd double check. Requirements below. I'm also going to let her know about EAA690's extensive YE program so she can take advantage of it too. Craig The Young Eagles pilot requirements are basic, but MUST be followed. Be a current EAA? member and hold an appropriate airman’s certificate (sport pilot or greater). Possess a current medical certificate (if applicable). Be current to carry passengers in the aircraft you plan to use. Have a current flight review. Complete the Young Eagles registration form before the flight, including parent or legal guardian signature, and pilot signature. Conduct flights in an aircraft that is in airworthy condition. Have aircraft passenger liability insurance for the aircraft used (owned, rented, or borrowed) with $100,000 per seat coverage. Adhere to all applicable Federal Air Regulations (FARs). Hi Everyone, It's with a heavy heart that I send news of the passing of Mark. I'm at a loss for words and like ya'll shocked that he's gone. I just feel so bad for Carrie and Rachel and Hayden and everyone else that knew and loved Mark. Mark has been a fixture at KAHN and 18A for decades with an encyclopedia-like knowledge of GA aircraft that will be truly missed.
