New project

Edited

Ok, I'm trying out on here.? I haven't been getting anything from here so I want to see if this goes out in email.

New trike project.? ?This one will get a 500w 24v scooter motor on it.? The pedals with drive the right rear wheel and the motor will drive the left rear wheel.??
It's only a single speed at the moment. I'm not sure if I want more speeds on it yet.

I refused to pay $80 for a new rear axle that it needed and decided to go? instead with a 5/8" zinc plated shaft from home depo for $8 or so. I had to also replace the rear bearings as the original
shaft was a 15mm type.? Since I needed two axles anyway that?worked out just fine as it was three feet long. I just cut it in half and am using one for each rear wheel.
I haven't figured out exactly what I'm going to do for rear brakes yet.? Possibly get some axle adapter and use disk brakes between the frame and rear wheels.

Your post appears on my side. It is a bit weird because on the Groups IO it says No New Messages and No Pending Messages even though yours showed up. It is not working like Yahoo. I set the Group up so people can post without my proof reading but that isn’t happening. Am getting to like Facebook more so will likely get the Mirror site up there this weekend. ??

It showed up? on my end too. I wasn't sure if it was working.? Both emails showed up, the first and the one I slightly edited.? I should have deleted the pictures from the second one I guess to save people a little bandwidth.

I got a bit more done to the trike.? The motor frame is welded on and motor and drive chain for it fitted.
I had some decent 20x3.0 tires and I changed out the tires that were on those rims for the bigger ones.

The old tires were pretty much sun cracked so I cut the sidewalls off them and used the rest as liners
for the 3" ones.? I had to splice a small section into each liner tire as they were not long enough but? I had another
old tire that supplied the bits needed.? A bit of duck tape to smooth over any edges and I put the 3" tires on the rims.
I used a lot of baby powder in the tires to make sure nothing was sticking with the tube when I pumped them back up.

I need to make an idler pulley setup for the pedal chain now since this trike isn't adjustable.? - I welded the sections together as the back end of the bike frame didn't fit the trike frame very well -

this is what the old tires looked like. They were almost new but sun killed
