Thank you for the free software.? I have used it for many years and appreciate the work that you have done. To Mac Users, I am running PSUD II version 2.2 Build 73 on my MacBookPro.? When installing you have to allow an installation from outside the Apple store. I developed commercial applications for Android, Apple, Apple iOS and Windows computers. PSUD II is specifically written for the? Windows OSes and requires the Win32 library (only available on a Mac running a windows virtual machine or emulator). The $99 cost for using the apple store is most likely not the issue. He would have to translate the program to a code language that is compatible with the Apple OS.? This is not a trivial exercise and could take months to do. I know this because I have translated some of my windows programs to both Android and the Apple iOS.? Programs that I use personally and do not want to waste time converting I run on my Mac using a Windows OS virtual machine. While it's 100% true to say that PSUD II was originally written for Windows, it is now a multi-platform development covering Windows and MacOS. The replacement, PSUD3, will also encompass Linux installations as this appears to be a popular operating system with hobbyists. I can confirm that PSUD II does not require a Win32 library when used on MacOS, it uses the Cocoa widget set which is native to the Apple XCode development environment - it's a 100% MacOS app, not a port or something run on top of something else. Correct - this is not just about money, this is about giving up time to learn the Apple store, maintain it, abide by all the rules, having software tested/reviewed/rejected etc.? I'm not ruling it out for the future (it may result in a small charge for the app), but for now, it's not in the plan. This is not a trivial exercise and could take months to do. To be 100% clear about this, there's no translation involved. It's exactly the same code used on the Apple as is used on Windows. There are minor variations, for example with handling filenames and location of personal data as these vary between operating systems; but in the main, it's the same piece of code. As a high level view, I'm trying to keep this group as a support resource to help those who need advice with using the software. I'm happy to give up time to do that and there are also others in this place who give freely of their time to assist users of the software; something I greatly appreciate. However, "guy needs help with installation on MacOS", seems to have descended into a debate about Apple development costs etc. which is arguably not the purpose of the group. Not saying there isn't a need for such a discussion, but this isn't the place to do it so I've locked this thread and the previous thread so we can focus the content on using PSUD II.
