Downloading PSUD for Mac

I downloaded version 77. Haven't installed it yet. What OS versions does this work with? Thanks

You'll probably get some more descriptive answers from the hardcore Mac users, however I can tell you it's a 64 bit app so will work only on the later 64 bit systems. I know that users have had problems running it on older OS (like from about 10 years ago).

If you can let us know what version of MacOS you are using, I'm sure someone will be able to confirm if they have it running on that or not, thanks.

Regards,
Duncan

I have version 10.12.6 Sierra on my main Mac but I have High Sierra on another Mac and a later one (?) on my Mac Mini

as far as i know, all?versions of OS X were 64 bit. 32-bit apps are something else?–?OSX Mojave (10.14.6) was the last macOS that could deal with 32 bit software. all newer macOS are 64 bit only.

Hello:
Downloaded Mac OS builds 75, 77 neither worked-
"the following disc images couldn't be opened"
psud2.build77.dmg- no mountable file systems
I'll assume my mac is too old?- 3.1 macPro running OS 10.7.5 at the moment.

Thank you.

Hi,

There's a note in the files area, however it is pretty vague as it doesn't give any OS version numbers:

I'm not sure how far back PSUD will work as I only have the one MacBook Pro to support this and I always keep it on the freshest OS version. I do know however that PSUD has worked on MacOS 12/13/14, so MacOS after October 2021 should be fine with the downloads on this site.

Had a look at the release dates and MacOS X 10.7.x was released in July 2011 so I couldn't guarantee this would work - it's really far back down the release chain.

Would be handy if others are on a non-recent MacOS if they could post what it's working or not working on? This would allow me to give potential downloaders a more accurate set of guidelines to work with, thanks.

Duncan

I use a Mac as my daily driver, (Intel) MacOS 13.6.6.? PSUD2 has not worked for me for the past 18 months, getting this message:

I've tried all the tricks I know, but no go.

I am able to use PSUD2 on my Windows machine.

Hi Chris,

There was an issue identical to this picked up in late 2020, it was linked to a MacOS upgrade which locked down the security tighter. There's a fix for it, but the permissions need to be applied at the Mac end (I can't do anything in the software). There's a thread listing the error, explaining the issue and finally providing the fix:

If you get an opportunity to try, please feed back and let me know if that fixes things for you.

Regards,
Duncan
