Recommendation for console APRS client?

Hi,
I'm using Direwolf on Debian and wonder if there's any text client (for Linux) that would show general info, maybe even crude maps :)? If there is such a beast I would love to hear about it.

Hello Steve,

Well, I have no idea how you would display maps in a textual view.? Going the GUI route:

?? - N7NIX DanTracker : medium weight messaging client via a web browser (local or remote) but currently doesn't have maps
?? - YAAC : medium weight Java program that can run locally
?? - Xastir : heavy weight client that can run locally via Xwindows - feature packed

Excellent ... thanks Jim and David for your ideas.? I've tried Xastir before so I may play with that again.? YAAC and DanTracker look interesting too.
