Is There a Modern Packet Radio BBS

The only Linux packet radio BBSs I can find will only run on linux kernel 2.x.? I was wondering if there were any packet BBSs that will run on a 3.x kernel with modern ax25 libraries.

The current ones I'm aware of is JNOS and FBB.? BPQ32 is lighter weight but still has a bit of BBS functionality.?? Lighter weight yet again includes Linpac, etc.

Maybe I'm trying to take on more than I need to here at the moment.? Since I have completed my computer-radio connector and have successully tested it at sending and recieveing various digital modes between my laptop and my desktop computer.? I was wanting to simulate connecting to a packet radio BBS.? As I think I understand it now the BBS run on a node, and really one connects to the node.? So, is there something simpler than a BBS program, ax25-node perhaps, that could use to connect from computer to compter with more than just unproto packets?

From what I understand, Direwolf does not offer connection services, everything is UNPROTO, or broadcast in nature with no error correction.

Yes, although I was going to use linpac or a equivalent to connect though DW to the node.

That could be confusing.? So here's a diagram.

Desktop - Some BBS or Node App - DW - Audio Link Cables

Laptop -> linpac or equivalent - DW - Audio Link Cables

I have successfull used on both ends for various digital modes:

Computer - FLdigi - DW - Audio Link Cables

And for unproto packet chat:

Computer - Beacon Wrapper Script - DW - Audio Link Cables

Sure but in some respects, Linpac can act as a node!

DIrewolf fully supports connected mode via the KISS interface but I can confirm it doesn't support connected mode via AGW/PE.

BPQ, or properly, linbpq

Very featuer rich.? Supports B2, RMS Gateway, node, chat, mail, etc etc.? SMTP gateway if you are daring, AX/IP.? It INCLUDES the AX.25 support BTW.? There's a Yahoo group call BPQ32 for support.
