Are there any plans to add more type of modems to Direwolf? I'd be interested in the new OFDM modes, which is suitable for AX.25 communication. I'd use it on HF.

Hello Levente,

While possible, there are a lot of different experimental OFDM modems out there but it's not clear which might be superior to any existing Direwolf modems, etc.? I'm aware of the following OFDM modems:

?? - Fldigi's OFDM effort from KL4YFD - Usually Fldigi modems are difficult to reuse elsewhere
?? - FreeDV's OFDM effort from VK5DGR
?? - ADROP v1's OFDM effort from G8BPQ

Maybe you're aware of other OFDM modems that might be suitable to be embedded into Direwolf?? Once a more complete list is created, I'd recommend to create a Direwolf Github "issue" to track the feature request.


Ps.? Until something is/if developed, consider checking out Direwolf's FX.25 with the 300bps AFSK modem for use with HF.?

Thanks, yes I know this. I think the FEC helps a lot on HF, so I think I can stick with that.
