Daniels Electronics CI-MP-4-00 Questions
Howdy y'all,
I purchased an HP spectrum analyzer a few weeks back at auction and it came with the Daniels Electronics "Radio Programming Interface Module."? I know next to nothing about it and couldn't find any super clear answers about what specifically it programs or any manuals.? It came with this ethernet looking cable and an RS-232 looking cable (although I'm assuming they are wired up in a non-standard pinout).? I generally stick to metrology and equipment repair (primarily HP, Fluke, BK, etc) so this is very much not a company or realm in which I have any knowledge.
?
First question - is this thing still useful?? What is it used for exactly?
Second question - how would I test it to see if it actually works?? I mean, I don't have any reason to assume it doesn't since the other equipment I bought with it is fully functional.
Third question - what is this worth to someone who would/could use it?? Odds are I probably have no reason to keep it, so I would definitely be open to selling it if someone is interested |
Yes if it works its very useful for programming MT4 modules.? I would test it by trying to program a module if you have one. There may be other ways to test but sorry I don't know.? I have one too.? Im sure?you could sell it to someone?here fast haha!? 73 Devan On Tue, Apr 8, 2025 at 10:42?PM zgoode via <zachary=[email protected]> wrote:

I bought one brand new a couple years back for $250, they are a little rare, but mostly because they are only really usefull for one series of the modules that were built for a short period of time. Matt

I would be interested in that, since I bought a MT4 module from Devan and haven't done anything with it yet

Hi,
?
This is used to program the MT-4R and MT-4D series of radio modules that were manufactured by Daniels (now Zetron) back in 2001 to 2006.? These modules are all now long since discontinued, and there are no more programming modules available, so this could be valuable to anyone who has the old MT-4R / D modules and needs to program them with the Radio Service Software.
?
Testing it would be difficult as you would need the RSS software (you can get this from Zetron), and a PC with Window 2000 (or so) and a serial port, along with an MT-4R or D module.? It isn't something that broke often, so it probably works.
?
I thik this sold for about $200 back then, but I'm not really sure.
?
Hope that helps. |

OK, I just checked and my modules aren't the 4R or 4D series.
You mention Zetron, but isn't that now Codan, like Daniels became also?

I just took a look in the bag on the spectrum analyzer which contained a CD.? The disc is pretty beat up but can be read by my ThinkPad.? The contents are the installer for Daniel's Electronics RSS4D-R V1.0.? I just ripped and zipped it and can upload them here.? The disc will be included with the programmer. |
Isn't their?software already in the files folder on this group?? I also have the MT4E software?but it seems to have issues installing it as it's trying to grab contacts?from the website and can't seem to get around that on my newer pc. I do have it installed on my win7 pc though.? On Wed, Apr 9, 2025 at 12:52?PM zgoode via <zachary=[email protected]> wrote:
