Daniels/Codan parts

Howdy all
?
I am looking for a source of parts, specifically the RJ45 cables and cage/rack block off plates.
?
I am putting together 3 machines through a Daniels multi-link controller for a solar site we were given space in.
?
looks like I can use cat 5/6 cables to interface the radios to the controller.
?
I also assume I can feed the controller with 13 volts even though it is tagged 9.5 volts on the controller.
?
thanks

Those are simple cables to make. I made all of mine. ?

Feed the controller with 9.5 volts from the back plane for the SR39-1.?

Jim.?

?
I looked at the 1 Daniels cable I have, Looks like they only use 6 wires not 8, I? can make them up also, I have a bunch of short cat6 patch cables that I was going to use
looks like I will dig out the wire and rj45's and go to crimping.
?
Thanks

I think that the 4E modules you can use Ethernet patch cables. Someone please correct me if I am wrong. The 4R and 4D you had to have the special cable. Pins 1&8 are used for programming on the earlier models.?

Also be careful about updating firmware. I did it to an older 4E. ?I had to send it in to have a hardware update done before it would work ($600). In the end I didn¡¯t gain anything.?

Jim.?

If you are working with MT-4R or 4D modules, you will want to use six wire cables between the TX and RX modules as the outer pair is reserved for programming applications.? Originally, Daniels used unshielded cable but switched to shielded due to problems.? I think they had a technical note about this.?
?
You can use six wire cable or clip off two of the wires from Cat 5 or 6 Ethernet bulk cable.? The only thing to watch is that the two outside contacts are empty before crimping.? This is easy if you use pass-through connectors where the ends of the wire actually stick out of the plug and are trimmed off when you are done.
?
When working with MT-4E modules, I don't bother to make up cables. I just use shielded commercial Ethernet jumpers of the appropriate length. The modules don't care since the two contacts that were used for programming in the 4R and 4D modules aren't internally connected.
?
The filler plates for the front of the 3U subracks are from Schroff.? You can often find them on eBay.? Just figure out how wide they need to be in "horizontal units." Searching for "Schroff" will bring up a variety of parts for the racks.
?
Some of the 3D printing folks have published the files needed to print your own filler panels.? I don't remember where I saw them but searching for the term "Eurorack" may help.?
