Ok team, we are planning on the agility Fun Match Sunday October 2nd --the fabulous spreadsheet master Grandma Helen is helping me to work out times and schedules. We will put up a google spreadsheet where you can write your name in a "slot", and x many slots will be available each hour. They you'll have 24 hours to paypal or venmo the $$ for your time slots or they will be erased (class students can bring me a check or cash in class, I trust you guys). This way you'll know what the running order is and about when to arrive and don't have to hang around all day. We'll arrange volunteer spots too, so you can come and work around your jump height and not need to hang around all day unless you really want to lol. I will see if I can get Nate and maybe a buddy or two to run a small concession stand (or a helpful volunteer l!!) Then if there are empty slots at the end of each jump height, or the end of the day and people want to purchase runs day of, that will be available! Unless it is clearly foul language, don’t judge the words, judge the dogs’ response/behaviors. The question comes up about handlers saying “stand” at any given time when they want the dog to remain stationary, rather than sit automatically when the team stops moving, which we know obedience trained dogs are taught to automatically sit when the handler stops. The team is not adding a behavior to the sign, the dog is required to stop without sitting, the handler is communicating precisely that to their dog. When performing the behaviors indicated at a sign, if the dog doesn’t respond to the handler's words and/or signals, it should be penalized for a delay to respond (or a lack of teamwork) depending on the degree of the delay. The hens are starting to amp up production for the spring so I will have a few eggs available if folks would like some. They are four dollars a dozen. We will be running a freestyle class for beginners/ intermediate students on Mondays from 2-3 Pm for the next few weeks--probably until Memorial day if anyoen would like to join us! Hello everyone! A reminder that we will start this week with our Canine Good Citizen Class This Tuesday in the same time slot 11:45. This will be mostly CGC preparation with some agility to practice our impulse control skills as well. Cost will be the same as the beginner class, 8 weeks for $200.00. You can bring a check or cash to class this week to register, no need to do more paperwork--just send me an e-mail and let me know you'll be attending. I will hand out your trick dog Novice paperwork and we will get everyone up to speed as needed! We will also be offing this same class on Monday nights at 6:30 if even class works better for you.
