Info Regarding Housing in Cambridge

A quick message from Shane Woolley, who is helping coordinate CMAN efforts.
"Hi folks! I have a quick ask. The Governor and Cambridge City Council have banned apartment showings during the pandemic to prevent the spread of COVID-19. If your landlord or their real estate agent tries to show your apartment to prospective tenants during this pandemic, please reach out to me or my boss, City Councillor Jivan Sobrinho-Wheeler, to report their violation of this ban so we can enforce it at the city level ( swoolley@... / jsobrinhowheeler@...). Also feel free to reach out with any other landlord-/housing-related issues you might be facing! Hope you’re all staying safe"

On an unrelated note, there was a really nice saxophonist playing music on a walk down the street last night or the night before.? Made our family happy to see so many folks stick their heads out their windows?to enjoy and say hello.??

Is anyone planning to run errands over the next few days who might be willing to pick up chlorox bleach for some neighbors who are staying home due to being at higher risk? I am in touch with them by phone and can provide details if anyone might be able to help out.

Info About CMAN Fund and Cambridge Hotline
Hi Everyone!
Here is a message from the Cambridge Mutual?Aid Fund Coordinator Rob:
The Cambridge Mutual Aid Fund is a grassroots fundraising effort providing direct and immediate financial assistance to local residents. In the last week and a half, the fund has sent out $12k in aid. To contribute, please Be sure to write “For CMAN Fund” in your payment note, and deselect the “Paying for goods or a service?” box. If you are in need of financial assistance, please reach out to our fund coordinators, Rob and Kenny, at CMAN.fund@...
Also, The Cambridge Community Center has created a phone tree in order to make sure the older members of our community are in contact with others. If you are interested in volunteering with the phone tree, please sign up here ().

Hi Debby, A neighbor has offered to give me a half-container of the wipes. I can probably share these with you. Also I may be able to share some hand sanitizer - I snagged a few small bottles while in Boston a couple weeks ago (limit 3 per customer, held behind the counter at CVS). I'll get back to you later today.

Cambridge Mutual Aid Network has a volunteer named Jenni who is a licensed independent?clinical social worker?with a psychotherapy practice.?She is available to offer complimentary 40-minute?virtual sessions per week for those struggling with managing this crisis or have?emerging or worsening mental health symptoms they'd like help navigating with a professional. Jenni can be contacted directly via email at? jenniwiech@... to set up a time to talk.

Urgent Food Drive for our Chelsea Neighbors
Hello Dana Hillers!
The Cambridge Mutual Aid Network is starting a new initiative to support our neighbors in Chelsea, where the majority of residents are essential workers and many have been hit hardest by Covid-related challenges.
The Need Every Tuesday and Thursday, the Chelsea Collaborative runs a pop-up food and supply pantry that feeds 500-700 people per day. Recently, they have needed to turn away families without food, so donations are deeply needed and would be greatly appreciated.
All donations are appreciated, but please prioritize these items requested by the Chelsea community. The current wish list includes: rice, lentils, beans (such as dried or canned red, black, pinto, garbanzo, split peas), fruits, vegetables, maseca flour, crackers (such as saltines or ritz crackers), cereal (such as Cheerios and other popular kinds), oil (such as canola oil, Crisco, and other neutral oils), soup, pasta, pasta sauce, sausage, milk, eggs, bread, chicken, tuna, protein bars, formula, baby food, and diapers.
Our Ask
If you are able to donate items like those listed above,?please drop off your goods at our neighbor Risa's house at 20 Maple Ave. between the hours of 7 and 10am.?There will be a collection box and a cooler located on the front porch. At this point, we are also looking for a neighbor or two who is able to drive the goods over to the Chelsea Collaborative at 9am on Tuesday mornings, which is located at?318 Broadway St. in Chelsea MA.
