Mouser carries some Pimoroni items
FYI, FWIW, IYGARA... ? ?If there's a Pimoroni part that Microcenter doesn't have and you don't really want to order it from Adafruit or Sparkfun or from across the pond, you might check with Mouser (down in Mansfield, TX). They have just over 200 of Pimoroni's items and, if you want it quickly, Mansfield's a nice little drive away and you pick up your item(s) at the "will call" window. I have no affiliation with any of the above companies.? Just passing along some info I (re-?)discovered today. ? ?_____ |\/ ? o \? ?o ? ? ? ? ??Rusty Haddock? <=>? AE5AE? | ? (? -<? DFWRPI 11/2023
2023 is almost over, but, yay, not yet. Just in time to resurface from Halloween's sugar overload, there's the monthly get-together, as always both in person at and online. Have anything to show (doesn't have to be anything with a presentation), let me know.

RPi OS - Bookworm w/ Wayland
How many of y'all have actually tried the new RPi OS w/ Wayland? I did a clean 64-bit load onto my RPi 400.? It seems to be spiffy but... I'm still looking for some workarounds for some things. DFWRPI Usergroup Meeting 10/2023
I'm back. Nothing like full tilt, sip-from-the-firehose entertainment, weeks-long. The kind that requires a vacation to recover from the vacation. Since I'm not utterly out of it (though that's debatable), we'll have a get-together, as always both in person at and online, see below. Who has something to show, doesn't have to be a full-blown presentation, fire-talk, open discussion, anything goes, talk to me. Time and place, might require a basic Zoom account to participate:

Oh great. This thing would have died so bad while in Germany.

Took an OrangePi5 for my travel server. Wired it up to my mom's FritzBox, that's basically a DSL router with a VoIP gateway added in to replace POTS phone service. Pretty impressive piece. DHCP address reservation doesn't appear to work quite right, no biggie. Anyway, I added a heatsink (big chunk of aluminum, enough to not need the fan built into that thing to run) to that OrangePi5 because I expected 8 cores to warm up quite some. Was pleasantly surprised to see that this wasn't the case, but still decided to check on it one day because 45degC is a bit much for my taste. Since the heatsink is black, it is easy to overlook unless the two LEDs are in line of sight. They were not. Found out that temp was higher because my mom didn't see the thing and placesd a couple folders on top of it. To be expected, because the FritzBox is in her office, and she didn't expect any ... adjuncts. If the RPI5 gets toasty faster, then this would have had gotten unpleasant. :( On Sat, 30 Sep 2023, Rusty Haddock wrote:
