BBC HLS streams update
I had not used my Victor Reader 3 for a while to listen to BBC radio, but oh dear, when I went to the playlist I imported a year or more back I found none of them would play.? this I am guessing is not news to some here, but I only just discovered this.
So another quick search brought up these updated streams which seem to have been uploaded a month or so back.? Most of the streams seem to work, but so far two that do not are Radio 5 Live and BBC WM.? the last is my local radio station which I do not listen to much, and can get on other devices as it happens. Direct links to these playlists are: Found at, All this said, most of my listening now is via smart speakers which play everything I want to listen to, including BBC local radio in other areas, so the VR3 is les important to me now for radio listening than it used to be. If anyone has a full list of BBC radio streams that plays all the BBC radio streams then please post links here. As the guy on the above linked-to website says, the Beeb seems to change these URLs more often than most folks change their under pants. Ray. |
开云体育Hello Ray I have put a working BBC WM playlist file in my normal Radio Playlist folder for you. It is working here on VLC on a PC at least. By the way the BBC Stations all seem to work OK on the SensPlayer as long as you update the channel database. I think I have all the national stations working in these files including Five live but not, sadly, Sports Extra. They are compiled from a number of sources. ? I have only put BBC Essex, London Devon and WM in as local stations. I can try and find others on request. If you want the actual streams URLs just open the playlist files in notepad. ? ? 开云体育Thanks David for your BBC streams update.? Sorry to say the M3U
playlist I sent earlier stopped working on my VR3 a short time
after I sent the links.? I don't know what's happening but it
could be the BBC servers are rejecting access to these streams
even though I am in the UK.? I also find my old Roberts internet
radio is still getting the BBC streams too. Strange things is the BBC streams I listen to on my BlindShell classic 2 are working still.? No idea where the streams its using are coming from. It would be good if you could post links to the websites where you are getting your streams from. Ray.

开云体育Dear Ray I don’t think there is any complete working playlist. I have used extracted URLs from 2 versions of playlist posted on GitHub, plus also the site you used earlier. However, some URLS from each playlist worked. The good news is that I found another source for the Five Live Sports Extra ?URL so my personal BBC Radio favourites folder is now complete with a working Sports Extra file.. A re-download of the previous link should reveal the working version. ? David Griffith ? From: [email protected] <[email protected]> On Behalf Of Rea Lists via groups.io

Hi Ray and Everyone
apologies if I have misunderstood your message. The BBC stations are on the Humanware Uk playlist on the Vr Stream 3 and they still work. When I found the streams on the playlists I had created no longer worked I exported the Humanware playlist and created new playlists using those streams. They still work and I can send them if you want, but the playlists are easy to create in Notepad or any text editor. They will play using VLC on my PC as well. Pele West |
Hi Pele, and good you have joined in this conversation.? I shall take a look at the VR3 playlists as I was not aware, or had forgotten, that a UK radio playlist with all the BBC streams was there to be activated.? I will be back to the list if I succeed in getting back the full BBC radio list, or not, as the case may be.

Yes, Pele's suggestion is far more elegant than my efforts searching for working streams and assembling them. I wish I had thought of it myself. I will have to turn on my own VR3 which has been neglected of late.

I have found and activated the Humanware UK playlist so I am feeling more sane and comfortuble now I have all the familiar stations and others that are there now too.

I have also just downloaded the free Mystic Access VR3 tutorial which should be useful. Thanks Pele and others for what should have been the bleeding obvious! Ray. On 10/02/2025 11:38 am, David Griffith via groups.io wrote:

Interesting Pele.? Might have a go at creating a streaming link for Cumbria myself if my old brain is up to it.? I used to like ocasionally dropping into that station as I some how found it a bit more relaxing than some of its near neighbours.

It was an omission. We added it! Reboot and wait a minute after connecting to wifi and the list should now include Cumbria. Mathieu -----Original Message-----

Try to force a check for update. Or make sure you do a full shutdown and not just suspend. Mathieu -----Message d'origine-----
