Audio book reading coming to the Humanware Stella Trek

It would seem that the Humanware Stella Trek will get an update to enable reading of audio books.? I don't know anything of the details on this update which I understand will be an update to the existing Stella Trek? software.? I do not know if this will exstend beyond listening to books.

Given the Stella Trek has fewer buttons than the VR3 I don't know how navigation of books and possibly other audio would be handled.

This info was revealed in the Double Tap podcast which is also available on YouTube about 53 minutes into the following episode of their cSun coverage:

I am not a great fan of the Double Tap podcasts and seeing Steven Scott waring dark glasses does not add to the attraction for me at least.

Ray.

Hi!

So it's true, with our update on the StellarTrek coming next month, we'll have DAISY book playing.

For this first version, only text books will be read, not audio books. It is a simplified navigation and a simplified player compared to a dedicated device like the Stream, but I think people with StellarTrek will be happy to be able to listen to a book while commuting on a bus, etc.

You'll be able to download books on most platforms that are DOD and Bookshare.
