The use for Tunein?

I have enabled tunein on my Stream 3, and wonder what value people are
getting from the app?
So far for me there is little content that I am personally finding that I
cannot access with the main Stream Internet Radio and Podcast apps.
Certainly the Stream existing Podcast app is far better than anything
Tunein offers I think.
I have found Sky News on Tunein, which, although I have not checked, may not
be available through the Stream radio app. All the other stations
suggested to me are already available to me via the radio app.
Tunein does make suggestions as to trending Podcasts that I should try which
is useful, but so far all the suggested Podcasts which I found interesting
are similarly available anyway on the Stream Podcast search and have far
better navigation download and storage options.

I did get briefly excited when there was a suggestion that I could listen to
any Premier League Football latch through Tunein, for which I would
certainly have paid the subscription. However on on further investigation
this is only available to those in North America.

So it is a genuine question. What does tunein offer that is not already
available on the Stream? I would like to know in case I am missing a trick.

Don't know the answer to yor question about the value or advantages of Tune-in.? There was a pointer to a webiner or podcast about using Tune-in being put out by Humanware.? I've not heard this but it maybe worth a listen, wherever it is.

Sorry to report I have to agree with rports about the VR3 still being buggy.? I have experienced freezes and some odd behaviour of the VR3 hince the update dropped.? Seems to be being bornbe out on the latest Mozen podcast too.

Hi David

I kind of agree with you, I can access all the radio stations I want or need
to via ootunes on the stream, I don't know why they had to add the tunein on
the stream, I don't think it really benefits us over here greatly, I think
the stream is more useful if you live in the states or Canada, apart from
audio books, podcasts, internet radio, there isn't a lot on the stream that
I can't do elsewhere. This is another reason apart from the financial
reasons, why I am going through the devices and working out which ones
really benefit me and which ones I really need, there is too much choice
now. I wonder if there was a way for humanware to charge us less because we
cannot get the amount of use out of the stream as they can over the water. I
like my new stream but prefer the older stream in a way. If I had realised,
I wouldn't have brought the stream yet. I realise eventually when they stop
supporting stream mark 2 I'd have no choice if I wanted to keep using the
stream but technology has moved on.If they added a few more generally used
apps to the stream, agenda, weather etc, it'll be more useful but you can
get all of that and more on other devices.

Regards

Adrien
