Important BBC Update SensePlayer
I apologise if this is old news as I don't follow threads religiously but I
think this update may be important for some people. This morning after updating the channel database on my SensePlayer I found that the BBC Streams in the main Web Radio app are working again. This applies not only to the national radio streams but it appears local radio streams as well. It seems as if you are spoilt for choice as when I typed BBC into the search I got over 100 results. Not absolutely every single one of these worked, the ones based on TV like Parliament may not work, but I suggest adding many, and then deleting the ones you do not want. For example, There are multiple copies of Five Live and Five Sports Extra and they all seem to work so I will simply delete the surplus channels. Anyway as of now I have working streams for BBC Radio London BBC Radio Essex BBC Radio Devon BBC Radio 2 ~BBC Radio 3 BBC Radio 4 BBC Radio 4 LW BBC Radio 4Extra BBC Radio Five Live BBC Radio Five Sports Extra BBC Radio 6. The only caveat is that I have only played each stations for a few minutes to establish that they work - so I cannot confirm if they persistently stream, or sporadically cut out as they apparently do on the Stream 3. Thanks David.? For me this news of BBC Streams working is very good news.

Just for clarification though, this means one can listen to these outside of BBC Sounds?? If yes, then could pre-sets be alocated to stations you go to a lot? In spite of the BBC doing its worst by local radio I still listen to some stations outside of my locality, and I do get max mileage by switching around quickly between various BBC national and local stations, including Ulster. Oh, and while I am at it, do you get Mushroom FM streaming ok? Many devices including the Google speakers refuse to play Mushroom. Your contributions are very helpful David and look forward to your reply. Ray. On 09/09/2023 10:02 am, David Griffith via groups.io wrote:

Yes this is in the main Web Radio app, and not in BBC Sounds.

There is no system of pre-set for web Radio as far as I know. On the SensePlayer there seems to be simply a channel list of stations to which you can add or delete stations. You can jump down the list rapidly if you want to navigate quickly, jumping 5 channels at a time or to the end or beginning of the list. There may be other navigation options I am still to learn. I have not search for Mushroom but I imagine it would be there. David Griffith .-----Original Message-----
