I discovered a way to get D-RATS and fldigi to exchange data. First start fldigi. Then start D-RATS. In D-RATS, go to preferences>radio and Add a connection. Name it fldigi and select Network as the type. Set the host address to 127.0.0.1, port 7322. Click the Add button. In the list of connections, mark the Sniff and Raw text boxes. Click Save. Assuming fldigi is already set up on your computer, select the fldigi connection in the port selection box just to the left of the typing line in D-RATS. Send a Quick message, QST or type some text. Whatever you send will go to fldigi and be transmitted on your HF radio. You can watch the text in the outgoing window in fldigi. Go to your HF radio and tune in any signal. Any decoded text will go to the D-RATS chat window and appear with the [fldigi] port marker. The text will be black on a yellow background. This indicates that it is not formatted D-RATS text and just "Raw Text". There will be a short delay between the time you receive the text and when it shows up in the D-RATS window. This was just a quick hack and needs further testing. Remember to start fldigi first, as D-RATS needs to see the network connection when it starts up. The next step is to get two stations running D-RATS on HF to communicate. (You can clear the Raw text box if communicating with another D-RATS station). I hope anyone running D-RATS and fldigi on the same computer can give it a try and post their results to the group. (I am running fldigi version 3.21.81) Thanks for reading, Patrick (N3TSZ)

I am running a Ratflector that runs perfectly. I want to add the ability to bridge to reflector 10 D using a DV dongle. I keep getting the error message "10061 connection refused". Am I doing something wrong or is it a bug in the software?

I am receiving the error: RAT: Unable to connect (Unable to connect ((10060, 'Operation Timed out'))) on my freshly installed copy of D-RATS. I was able to connect to the se_wxnet ratflector so I know the software is working properly. Is this one down? Also, what other well-used ratflactors are there available?

The Texas D-RATS Net will be held on July 24, 2014 on the AE5HE RATflector at 7 PM (MDT). Host Address: ae5he.ham-radio-op.net:9000. The net topic is the D-RATS Chat Tab. This net will be a review of the Chat Tab, and will show attendees some new capabilities/tips when using some of the features on the Chat Page. All are welcome to attend.

Has anyone had any success working with rss feeds in drats? I have tried various combinations of addresses and timing, I can get it to work one time and then never again, I am wondering how to continually go back and get updates from the same site. If it is an ATOM type do I need to download it then use the file for the QST? I have tried them as a CAP and it then seems to go to source code for the rss. Been working with this one for awhile and just don't seem to be able to find a work around. Thanks folks Al KF5SMH

I seem to have problems connecting to the D-rats reflector with this error: Unable to connect (unable to connect ([Errno 111] Connection refused)). Any help? Thanks!

I have setup D-Rats to operate with a TNC-X and successfully tested Chat and File transfer. The D-RATS port for the TNC-X had to be set for 9600 baud in order to pass data back from the tnc to D-RATS. The transmit side would work at the desired 1200 baud. This setup could potentially cause a transmit buffer overflow as the TNC-X has a 6k buffer. I did successfully transfer a 20k file without an apparent problem. Anyone have experience or thoughts on this subject?
